I thought this game does not come out for pc until a later date. I was preparing to get it for PS5 but think I'll go with PC isntead so I can use mouse and keyboard.

Does anyone know if it has crossplay multiplayer?

NSFW gameplay. Their FLESH Engine = Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humanoids. If you don't do well with gore, don't watch this video.

Not surprised it runs better on Nvidia, almost all UE4 games do.

As dapunisher showed, it really does run on everything. A welcome change from that atrocious TLOU (which IS getting better but still...)

I did two capped runs on two of my systems. 12400f+3060ti and 2500k+1070.

(non monetized channel, just for fun)

The game runs really well on both at Ultra, with different resolutions of course. Color me impressed by that old 2500k, which does not want to give up, I swear to god.

I will do some more testing during the coming week, on my other two systems and hopefully on the 4070ti next weekend, if it has arrived. I am mostly curious on the GTX 970 though. The game does fill the 1070's framebuffer in a convincing manner and I guess the 970 will have some trouble. But we'll see.

And it's quite fun too. Unfortunately I'm playing Wonderlands now and Jedi Survivor will be next, so I guess this goes for June at the earliest.

edit and oh yeah I forgot, it takes the 2500k, half a minute, to do its shader precompilation, while TLOU needs like 45minutes with the latest patch, lol

Yeah, shader compilation is fast. I'm playing on a 5600x+6600XT and with no fps limit average over 100fps 1080 ultra. It does indeed fill almost the full 8GB, 7.7-7.8GB. Takes almost 12GB of ram too. I put a 60fps cap, and the 6600XT went from its max of 130W to 45-75W.

I have latest drivers but some of the women's hair does not render correctly.

I did not play the first game, but this one is a lot of fun. I am 5hrs in and having a great time. It's B movie schlock and it works for me. Pretty stoked about getting this and Callisto Protocol for free with my RX6800. Makes me feel like I effectively paid $400 for the card because the games are worthwhile.

Is Callisto in a good state now? Got that same deal with my 6700 XT but haven't tried the game yet since I have such a backlog. And Yakuza Like a Dragon which I'm currently playing is huge. Probably won't finish that until Zelda launches next month.

Glad I saw the posts in this thread pop up on the main page - I thought Dead Island 2 was coming out next week.

I got Callisto and Dead Island 2 with the same game deal in November. I've only run Callisto a little bit in the last month, but seems to run fine at 1080P on my RX 6600. The game deals were pretty fabulous: got Uncharted 4 with an Ryzen 5 5600X I put in my wife's computer and Callisto Protocol + Dead Island 2 with my $190 RX 6600 (that unfortunately needed an RMA repair, but they fixed it on the first try, so I guess that's good).

It's not just Uncharted 4, you also got Uncharted Lost Legacy with it as it's the other part of the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Yeah, that's what I meant. I was just being shorthanded when I was typing on my phone. The Uncharted collection was a solid 2 games.

I guess I am getting this one on PS5 since the PC version is locked to Epic game store for some time.

I do not know why people have this aversion to Epic.

Do you think they will sell your info to China because they have partial ownership in Tencent?

Do you think they will do something Steam already hasn't done, and probably only got caught half the time?

Did you know i made an Epic account almost when they first came out, and have been hording free games each week.
Right now my Epic library is very heavily padded. Probably almost half the size of steam, with almost all the Epic exclusives, yet i probably paid less then 10% what i spent on steam, because Epic gives free games every week.

Some of it even AAA titles like Death Standing, Control, Elite Dangerous, and Ghost busters even.

I really would like to know why people are so anti EPIC like they are going to catch COVID from them.

In todays gaming industry, its almost impossible to stay just on steam.
Epic has great deals, Ubisoft has Uplay, which they make you sign up even if you do on steam regardless.
EA has EA Play
Xbox has Xbox live for Console + PC.
Playstation has PS Online.
GoG has its own.

I have too many game loaders, but thats just how it is in today's gaming world.

Not sure why quoting is not working in Tapatalk but regarding the aversion to Epic store, personally I don't like having too many game clients. Steam and origin is currently what I have installed and then GOG. I remember one time on epic I went to login and I could not. Somehow my password was changed and I had to contact support to prove I actually had games redeemed in my epic account.

I am playing dead island 2 on PS5 currently and it's a lot of fun. The combat is cool and weighty. Moreso than dyling light 2 when it came out. But I have heard the most recent patches in dying light 2 have made it much more appealing.

actually its more...

Dying Light has parkour.
The maps are more dynamic, as in you have an added level of Z axis in exploring.
Meaning all those high rise buildings you see in dying light, you can get on top of.
Dying light also has flight / glide.
Dying light also does not have as many fetch quests.

Dead Island 2,
has vehicles.
has real guns.
has more vehicles.

i hear the quest system is really boring in dead island2.
A lot of people are not liking the fetch system.

Actually I think in dead island 2 you don't get to drive vehicles which is odd since you could in dead island 1. I would say dying light 2 is a "fuller" game in terms of story, side quests, exploration but I've also read that people said it is very filler and the feel was like they tried to fit everything in but not expertly acecl at any particular item.

Now that the patches are out which made it better for combat and the flesh system, I plan on playing through dying light 2 at some point.

DI 2 is mostly just just simple basic, zombie smashing fun which improves upon the first game minus the vehicles.

Just because they're free doesn't mean they're good or that people will want to play them. Having variety is always good, but I would rather pay for the games I want to play than be able to brag about 200 games I'll never play - not because I don't have time but simply because I never wanted to play them in the first place.

I really would like to know why people are so anti EPIC like they are going to catch COVID from them.
I'll answer this quote with another quote from you:
they will sell your info to China because they have partial ownership in Tencent?
40-50% plus two Tencent employees on the board of directors for Epic is technically partial ownership, but you know they heavily influence the choices made at Epic. Not only that, but Epic was caught spying when they first launched and several times afterwards and all Tim Sweeny had to say was "sorry for this oversight, we've corrected it". They constantly deny spying on their users but so did Facebook... until they were caught. The NSA denied spying on US citizens... until they were caught. Epic has already been caught and all we got was a sorry ass "whoopsie! won't happen again!"... until it does happen again. Tencent has their fingers in so many things these days that people are simply getting complacent and completely forgetting how much they help the Chinese government spy and screw over their own citizens. There's a multitude of other reasons, but if you're that interested in learning why a lot of people hate Epic (or simply hate Tencent and anything they sink their claws into) you can find most of this by looking around Google and researching what Tencent have done in the past.

In todays gaming industry, its almost impossible to stay just on steam.
That's not even remotely true. I have over 500 games on Steam and another 100 in my Wishlist with hardly enough time to play what I already have. Not to mention, most of the Epic exclusives eventually come to Steam at a high discount and with months worth of patches so the Steam users get a more polished product at a cheaper price than the people who simply had to be the first to play the brand new game. I can understand if it's some highly-anticipated AAA multiplayer game, but if it's not multiplayer then who cares if you play it on launch or two years later? I pretty much only play on PC, PS4, and Switch and all of them can be played offline with the exception of one game on PC (Escape From Tarkov).

I thought this was the old way of thinking, back when they first opened shop.
A lot of people, me included just gave up staying with 1 distributor.
Sometimes there are exclusives i want to play.
Sometimes its being offered for free on Epic, so i'll download it.

Im not looking down on anyone, if i sounded a bit condescending, lemme clear up my tone.
I was just curious why people still had this thought.

Is the game worth recommendations?

1. Is it worth full price?
2. Is coop fun? Is it cross play?
3. Is the coop server all fubarded making friends join you very difficult.

Basically im wondering if i should start pulling something out of my already overflowing bucket of games to play, and wait for this to go on sale, or if i should get it now, and just hash my way thought it with some buddies, and then toss it back in the bucket.

If you have other titles to try I would get this on sale. It's fun but I dunno if you are looking for a longer type of game or if you prefer the playstyle of dyling light 2 where you have more to do in the world.

It is not cross play and to play co-op each player must have completed at least the intro portion of the game. I have not done any co op on PS5 and if i do it would be with randoms anyway.

I got it at launch because I never played dead island 1 or riptide but after seeing the changes made in #2 up until release, I was interested.
