Now I did some research on the drive I got. Took me awhile to figure out just which one I did get. On the compliance sticker on top of the driver. I saw in very fine print. Complies with Aopen Inc. So I knew it was an Aopen CD-RW. I read the review of the drive at CDR-INFO.
Link here And the Aopen drive came in 1st place or 2nd place (to the Plextor CD-RW) in most of the test. And it can do everything that the LiteOn CD-RW can do. To make sure of it being an Aopen CD-RW drive I went to the Aopen website
Link here They have the model number of the CRW2440 listed as Model. Part NO.
Nero Bonus Pack 91.60D37.011
Bulk Pack 91.60D37.002
My model number is 91.60D37.034
I don't know why the last 3 digits of mine don't match either of theirs, but I suppect that it's just a different batch number made for I/O Magic drives. I couldn't get the Nero software to work with my Aopen cd-rw until I updated to Nero version 5551. And I couldn't get the Nero version 5572 to install even with the Nero Aopen patched version no big deal version 5551 works fine.
I am really happy with the Aopen cd-rw that I got and see no reason to be disappointed by not getting an LiteOn cd-rw. Thanks for posting this deal. I think it's a great deal wether you get the Aopen or LiteOn cd-rw drives.
