anyone using this on BF3 yet?
There is one on Newegss ebay page for $200.
I wonder if the rebate works then.... :hmm:
you will have no problems. you will probably pull about 450-475 watts max with your current system and stock gtx480.Does my system have enough juice to run this card? It says minimum of 600watt psu on the galaxy website.
its a reserved auction so i doubt u can even bid on it. i tried =/
you had to set up an aggressive fan profile just to keep temps at 87?Mines all set up. The first thing I did was bump up the core clock to 800mhz and the memory to 2100mhz. Then I set up a more aggressive fan profile.
This things runs BF3 like a beast. 1080p, Ultra Settings, High Post AA, 2xMSAA, HBAO
All staying between 40-60 fps. Load temps in bf3 with the OC and the fan profile were ~87C.
Yea it's a bit high but all I really did was make it ramp up the fan faster. The fan was hovering around 75% which didn't sound too loud. /shrug if it's stable and not too loud I really don't care what the temperature is. I've got the High Flow bracket and some new TIM incoming. And my case fan setup could use a little adjusting.you had to set up an aggressive fan profile just to keep temps at 87?
those high flow brackets don't really do anything. High quality TIM should help though
Thanks again for the OP and rebate.. I got one of the $199 'ers !
After rebate = $174.99
I've got my new TIM on. I applied it like Russian linked in the other thread but with 3 fairly skinny vertical lines. So far with that and rearranging my cooling setup a bit my temps are down to an exact 80C in the same setup as before. Not bad imo and it still needs some time to set.
I am glad you were able to grab the card before Newegg raised the price by $50! Feel free to share your noise and temperature observations at load and idle, as well as the performance increase over your GTX460 in the games you play. A lot of you guys want to compare BF3 results.
So a 7*C drop from 87*C by just swapping the TIM? That's about right. And I am sure you got some TIM left for the next time you upgrade your CPU platform.
for 20 bucks cheaper you can get a gtx560 thats almost as fast and uses way less power and also comes with two new games. or for just 10 bucks more than that gtx470, you can get a gtx560 ti that's just as fast, comes with a brand new game and also uses way less power.it's back.....at $499 LOL
They do have the 470gtx
