DEAD: Free shipping at Newegg when paying with Paypal (ended 12/19/06

free shipping still going on, at least @ 1:30am pst 12/16. I ordered a cheapo $10 computer case (needed something w/ front usb ports for the family computer). Shipping will cost Newegg as much as the case is worth, lol.
 
Heck..I rushed and bought couple more things...glad to see this is still there

I need to dump some money in paypal...to keep buying of course
 
Just clicked on the link in my OP and looks like they changed the promotion period to "for a limited time."

So it's possible the shipping discount is still valid.

My order failed to get the free shipping an hour ago -- 'twas a UPS, so shipping was $19.99. Got on Chat w/ NE staff, and they said offer was ended 12/15. My comment that folks were still getting the free shipping 12/16 drew no answer. Well... Buy.com had a more tempting deal, then: no state tax, a better price on this one UPS, and the $20 from Google. But the PalPalFree saved a bundle for me until Friday.

Edit: The above is garbage, I'm thinking... I just now (a day later) took an arbitrary product to the final order submission page, and the PayPal free-shipping worked. I -do not- have any special ("premium") PP account.

Conclusions:
(1) The NewEgg staffer gave useless/wrong information.
(2) Their PayPal shipping-waiver process has some unidentified-to-me holes.

In my case, it refused a Belkin UPS (FC1000-tw-rtl). Were I forced to guess, I say heavy drop-shipped items (sent by manufacturer, not from NE warehouses) aren't eligible for the PP treatment. Yeah, that's just a lame guess.
 
Offer is still posted, you have to have a Premier PP acct. backed by a credit card (seems to work with a Visa or M/C debit card too). Won't work with a PP basic acct.

I just started an order for some USB cables (excellent prices on the Rosewill black 10 footers by the way - 5 cables for <$9.00 shipped!) and it still worked for me. You have to follow the instructions on the linked offer page exactly and meet the requirements as listed.

Some items seem to been ineligible, even though it says nothing other than something like although you have entered a valid promo code, it is not valid for this item.
 
ok- they rejected my order for two mice I ordered saying "We were unable to secure the required funds from your PayPal account."
thats bullcrap. plenty of money in there- i think their system is messed up. Anyone else have orders from 13th or later get rejected?
 
Received a voided order, "Confirmed paypal shipping address does not match the shipping address". I confirmed it matches to the letter, even upper and lower case characters, so I have a feeling there's an issue with the checkout system.
 
I placed an order on the 15th for an Antec Sonata II Case. Paypal Balance funds

Looking great... says my order has been shipped (label created). Will come on Tuesday

Did you checkout correctly? You'd get that if you don't checkout through paypal....

You probably checked out wrong or something
 
I've used the code for 3 separate orders and it worked every time. I used my CC through Paypal and had no troubles.

um- no.
Newegg got a special customized paypal checkout sometime after the 9th of this month and when I ordered on the 13th was the first time I saw it. My 3 orders on the 9th that went through fine used the old paypal system. I think the new newegg paypal checkout has a problem. My previous 3 orders went through fast. I have ordered and reordered since the 13th and it says the order went through at newegg, but orders still dont seem to get past step 1.
