let me clear something up, for all the people searching for a upgradeable 32x CenDyne/LiteOn STOP LOOKING, your chances of finding one are probably slim and none. I've been posting deals for 32x CenDyne from Staples and OfficeMax for the last 4 or 5 months and NO ONE has ever said they they got the upgradeable LTR-32125W LiteOn drive, and remember the LTR-32125W is based on the 40x LiteOn and they stop making the 32x version soon after they started making the 40x drives, so there's only a few LTR-32125W LiteOn out there. If you want to upgrade a LiteOn to 48x buy a 40x CenDyne/LiteOn ALL of them are upgradeable to 48x. But don't let this information stop you from the fun of still looking for that W drive. 😉
I accidentally deleted the information about the different CenDyne 32x rebadged drives from my post at the beginnig of this thread but the information is back up now including links to AOpen.com and a review of the AOpen 32x drive.Originally posted by: ghetto buck
Had no problem getting this great deal (thanks MysticMan1), however all staples had was aopen. I assumed I would get the crw3248 but the model on the drive is actually crw2440. So apparently it's a firmware upgraded 24x drive. How are these drives? Also when upgrading the firmware which should I download?

Had to go and buy another one. A CenDyne 32x CDRW for the price of a loaf of bread was to much to resist. Got the last one they had (a LiteOn), so now have two 32x LiteOns. This is starting to be fun, I can't wait until they start selling the 40x CenDyne for free, which should be real soon (They're $40 AR now) and going down fast. 😉

I visited a Staples near me last night and got the last drive. It's a Lite-On model. (San Diego, CA) They matched the price of OM to 59.99 but they wouldn't give me the 10 of 40 that I had printed out. So I got the drive for 62.xx tax included. I guess $12 isn't too bad for this this drive, but I'm jealous of you ppl getting them for nothing, or even getting paid. I'll try one other Staples today to see if they will hook me up.

The way I understand it, you send in the cd player rebate form and they send you a cd player, besides OfficeMax does sell or carry cd players.Originally posted by: Nefrodite

Nice post, but why do I feel a little bored about it all??
Now, if this was a free 40x or 48x, I might be getting excited a little.

seatidex, you can turn off the SmartBurn feature and burn at whatever speed you want. This is what I did. Nero was only allowing me to burn at 12X on some 24X rated CD's (that in fact burn fine at 40X). This does not disable the buffer underrun feature. Go to "Choose Recorder" and "options" and you'll see a SmartBurn checkbox.
Which one did you go to in SD? I called the Kerney Mesa store and they told me they had 2... but I was too lazy to drive over there. Carmel Mountain was out, Mira Mesa told me they had one.

We have to buy the cd player? I thought we submit the rebate form and OM will send us the cd player. Well, looks like I won't be getting the cd player. I submitted the rebate form with a copy of the cd writer receipt and a copy of the UPC.
That's my understanding of the submision guidelines listed in the rebate form. Oh wel...
