Microsoft is giving the following software for free if you attend their event

Must be over 18 to attend the event.

Are these full versions?

Want more? To say thanks for taking part of this exciting launch, you?ll take home a promotional kit with versions of all three products.

i've been to these seminars the last few years, got office 2007 & vista business last year, and office and virtual pc the year before. all were full NFR versions

Thanks, however Microsoft's product do not work well, when I try to register I get

<!-- Web.Config Configuration File -->

<configuration>
<system.web>
<customErrors mode="Off"/>
</system.web>
</configuration>

Working fine here are you using opera or firefox?

Try using internet explorer works fine. Slow but fine.

Loads slow (with IE only for me) and takes forever to transfer between screens, but it does finally complete.

I would expect the software would be full versions (no time limit) but be NFR so don't get you eBay listing ready.

OP - Thanks!

Is Windows Server 2008 essentially Vista with server capabilities? Ie. Could you use it as a home OS, would it require special drivers?

Thanks for the heads up OP, will be attending.

Probably similar to Server 2003 where most XP drivers worked but some didn't.

Damn...nothing I need on the list, otherwise I'd be there. MIGHT still go if my IT pal wants to go to the one in Fresno. Haven't seen him in a while...be nice to catch up over lunch.

Full versions you just cant sell software developed with them.

Do you have any info about the restrictions on selling software developed with them? I'm having trouble tracking that down, and I wouldn't mind heading to one of these events to upgrade from my purchased copy of VS2005.

Thanks.

i think that was a joke. i got Visual Studio NFR for the web seminars a few years back and there was no restriction

Too bad it is on weekdays. That means I would lose a day's pay
to go to the event .. But Server 2008 would be something nice to
have, even though I might not use it right away.

Do they check your work credentials? I would assume a very basic "are you employed here" but thats about it

I'm self employed and they never checked on me in the past.

BTW, has anyone gotten any kind of confirmation yet? I signed up two days ago but nothing back yet.
