*****OK, the cat's not DEAD, just the deal. She has found a Home******

Ok, not your typical Hot Deal, but this certainly doesn't go in the FS forum.

My In-laws rescued a litter of kittens. They have the same mother as my two cats do, and since I already have those two, we're trying to find homes for the other 4.

Three of the four are already spoken for, we just have one left, "Scamper." She's pictured with the other three kittens at http://community.webshots.com/album/101508366IYPCjh

She hasn't been to the vet yet since she's so young (six weeks), and will be making the trip very soon. I'm willing to take her for her first vet visit if it will help her find a good home.

Please contact me @ me@jweavis.com with any questions.

Thanks.

BTW: Mid-Michigan Area

I hate cats. Now if it was a puppy like a German Shorthair Pointer or a Hungarian Vizsla then it would qualify as a hot deal. But since it's just a cat I'd say it's a freezing deal. :D

I think it is kinda hot. Cats may be cute and cuddly, but underneath their fuzzy exterior is possibly the most leathal killing machine designed by nature. We just think they are kinda wimpy compared to dogs because we can only keep the small ones around. I read once cats are seven times stronger than a dog of the same size. Plus they are faster, more agile, and have razor sharp claws that can rip through flesh like butter. Compared to the killing perfection in your typical feline, a dog is nothing more than a degenerate wolf.

Sure, a dog like a Rottweiler might be able to get the best of a small housecat. Try putting that dog up against something its own size like a cougar and see how long the dog lasts.

And we're not even getting into the really nice features of a cat, such as the fact that they are smart enough to tidy up their won feces and they are mostly self cleaning. Plus they are nice and warm and fuzzy. Their aloofness is a bit overstated, because my two cats will hop up on the couch with you the fist chance they get and one will even get under the covers and lay right next to my wife. That's just as much companionship as any dog will give you. Heck, one of mine will even fetch small bottle caps and sock hangers my wife throws across the room. What more could you want out of a pet?

Just stay away from the purebreds. Inbreeding only causes genetic weakness and it is a crime against nature and evolution in my opinion. People who spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to create a genetically crippled animal should almost be locked up. Mixed breed is where it is at, as they tend to be the sweetest, heathiest and smartest cats. All my cats have been mixed breed, and they've all been great pets.

Are you negotiable in the price? Are you willing to pay half the shipping costs?

Just kidding - have four cats now - five would be over the Top.

Good luck.

But being a good pet and companion has nothing to do with being a good killing machine. Hell I certainly don't want a "killing machine" for any reason at all. I much prefer the friendship and companionship of a dog over a cat any day. A dog just wants to be your friend and wants to please. A cat just seems to come around when it needs something. As far as a cat cleaning it's own feces, a dogs version of dealing with sh!t is even better. They don't bother stinking up your house like a cat will. They just go outside and crap in your neighbors yard :)

I think big wild cats are cool although I certainly woudln't want one as a pet. It's housecats I don't particularly care for. Always walking around on their tippy toes like some sissy. I've always associated housecats as a girls pet and dogs as a mans pet. I guess it's stereotypical, but it's the way i am. I like to go out on the beach and toss a frisbee around. Or go out in the country and go duck hunting. Can't do that with a tabby. To each his own I guess. :) lol

As the "owner" of two cats, I'd have to say that this is a hot deal! That is one cute kitty cat! However, trying to get it to Oregon wouldn't be practical and would also really piss off the other two.

Here's hoping you find an taker soon Bump!

you must wimps for neighbors. If your dog crapped in my yard, I would throw the crap next to your front door

I know it isn't exactly a qualification for being a good pet, but I am just in awe of how well they are put together. It does add some to fun in watching them play, because they can get quite acrobatic when they want to - sometimes my wife thinks they've found the secrets of the Matrix or something.

I guess I just like cat personalities better. They just seem to have better self-esteem. And cats will come to you and want to be your friend. It just takes a bit longer than it does with dogs, and they tend to want to love you on their terms. I kinda like that.

If you are an outdoor person and want a companion for those types of things, a dog is a good choice though. Cats are more set up for indoor fun and apartment living. You CAN play fetch with some of them, like I said earlier. You just have to settle for sock hangers instead of frisbees...

I wasn't a big cat fan until I lived with one (or should I say it decided to let me live with it) recently. He was a hoot. I'm still a much bigger dog person, but I'm not vehemently against cats as I once was....and I know cute when I see it and that kitty is CUTE!

A bump for you.

Same here. I used to hate cats until one of my friends got one. Now I can appreciate cats. I'm still a dog person, but one day I want to have both.

I tend to agree with the cats are ok for apartments and dogs for houses.. I've had both and loved both but I've one dog now who makes outside cats his dinner. there will be a point when I need some brownie points with my daughter.. and a kitty will get me forgiveness for anything.. hehehehe.

good luck on your kitty giveaway.

Thanks for all the posts guys, except from the people who want to eat it (they're really not worth all the trouble of skinning). I would say long hair, but if she's anything like my cats, most of the PUFF will shed and she'll be she'll be less puffy. It's the outside hair to keep her warm. She was outside for about 2 weeks.
