(DEAD) Dimension 4400 1.6 Ghz System $449 Shipped @ Dell

I received the order acknowledgement but no confirmation. The customer service rep told me the order is not in the system and to call back tomorrow. He said I may have to reorder. When I told him I could fax a copy of the order acknowlegdement he said he can't do anything until tomorrow. I hate it when a deal hits a snag.
 
Ignore my previous post. For those of you who subtracted the mouse and keyboard this is what happened to my order. You will get an e-mail from a specific Dell CS rep and he/she will explain that the order can't go through unless he/she adds a $20 mouse but that otherwise your order and price will not change. I accepted and replied immediately and 5 minutes later got an order confirmation with the updated price which was only $20 higher than the original quote. So it looks like we are ok.

It looks like they deleted the speakers all together, although my final order says "Speakers Shipping Separetly, INFO" whatever that means. The order date now says March 1 but something tells me that the $200 rebate is not going to happen, maybe its just the bad kharma I have towards rebates but I'm still going to try. I would just hate to try and get the $200 rebate and then find out I was supposed to send in the $100 rebate form and in the process be disqualified for both.

as you can see, this topic has gotten alittle off topic, here's my effort to keep it on track.

does anyone know what motherboards come with the Dell Dimension 4400's? I know someone posted an intel mobo, but if you read the whole thread, i noticed 2 conflicting facts.

in short, Rossman posted specs of the mobo from dell which stated the mobo has 4 pci slots and zhang said it was an intel board, which i looked up at PW and found had 3 pci slots.

anyone wanna clear up this mess, or did i miss something?

xDrAGoNx - Please stop saying that I stated that, if you read my original post all I did was copy/paste directly from Dell's tech specs for the 4400. So it wasn't me making a statement.

Still havnt received any confirmation e mail from DELL here 🙁 Have only received acknowledgement e mail.

I guess they ran out of the processors and other stuff (j/kin). will be some time before they ship mine. Well, i am not in a hurry, will call them tomorrow to get a cheaper mouse to save extra $30 and see if my order date changes to 3/2/02 🙂 Then i would be able to use the 200 MIR and that would be a SUPER HOT deal but its just my fantasy right now. The truth will be revealed tomorrow morning.

I CANT WAIT TILL TOMORRROW, DELL, DEPLOY 24 HOUR SALES (LOLOL)

Is that before or after shipping? If thats afer shipping, thats not too bad of a deal
 
I ordered the 40 gb hard drive and heard from someone that it might be a 5400 rpm drive. Does anyone know for sure? This might kill it for me if that is true.

Thanks for the link. I didn't think they would stick us with a 5400 rpm drive for a P4 1.6 ghz with DDR RAM. I can see possibly doing this in the Celeron systems or even the 4300 series with the regular PC133 RAM.

Guys, are we going to get the flat panel, in the confirmation, it says monitor selected below, but i didn't see any monitor listing.
 
I AIN'T COMPLAININ, but I do not have a clue HOW I got the E-Bates rebate on this when I forgot to go through E-Bates. I reveived an e-mail today telling me that I was getting $11.48 rebate on my system purcahse and I know I did not start out at E-Bates to place the order. After it was ordered, I realized I had forgotten and I thought about cancelling and starting over -- I configured a system through E-Bates AFTER I had placed my order but decided to let it go. Today I get an e-mail telling me I got the E-Bates credit. Oh Well. All's Well That Ends Well 🙂

Now if someone would just tell me if the cehaper Mushkin ddr sdram ($125 for 512 MB) works OK in this sysyem so I can get it ordered ! (Or AccessMicro has some PC2100 -- 512 MB - for $126)
 
My order was shipped today. There are 2 packages. Need to call them up to see what that is all about. My order was scheduled for shipping on the 6th but was shipped today. Pretty fast. I might get it by friday. The total came out $577.😀
