The most I could take off by choosing "no monitor" is $130 so the lowest I can get it to using your recommendations is $799-100-50=$650

If only you had posted this a week ago, I could have saved my parents a little cash on their new computer. Oh well, they are still getting an SV24 system, so at least it will look cool :)

Why did mine come out to $556? Where's the other $6 coming from?

Is this a good deal btw?

Edit: I see.. We are excluding a monitor.

Does anyone know if this 20 gb hdd is a 7200 rpm drive? I take it that if you take the hdd out and use a different one, you'll lose WinXP, which bites.

This is regular DDR RAM, correct? Like the stuff that Crucial sells?

Now the question is whether I should build or buy this? I have most of the parts already except for a case, CPU and motherboard. I guess I could transplant everything over.

Does anyone know if there is a space for an extra hard drive on this machine?

Sorry for all the questions.. I've got a tough decision to make here. Build an AMD XP system or buy this.

Hmm.. for some reason it keeps telling me to add in a set of speakers for a total of $599 w/o the rebate yet.

Am i doing something wrong here?

$599 is correct w/o the rebate.
Theres a $100 MIR and a $50 Coupon Code.

That drops the price to $449.

Hope that Helps.

I come up with 619.00 before the coupon and rebate. To get 599.00, do I have to subtract something? Like the network card or the modem?

Is anyone familiar with the overclocking capabilities of this system?

1. Is the P4 a socket 423 or 478? (478 being preferred)
2. Is the motherboard amenable to increases in bus speed?

EDIT: Perhaps RossMAN answered #1; the part number for the cpu is given as 461- 4237
