Yay! Mine is "In Transit" With my luck, it'll show up tomorrow... the day that I'm in class from 1:30 till 10:00...

Have any of the people who had a projected ship date of the 29th gotten theirs yet?

So is it the DVI connection that eliminates ghosting? Or is this LCD good enough that even through Analog it has no ghosting while gaming?

analog or dvi makes no difference w/ghosting... the connection just provides a 'clearer' color display (no need to convert from analog to digital -which is hardly noticeable to most). a 25ms response time is actually really good.

According to this URL

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=cc_pre_sales&message.id=7475

the 1800FP comes with a 3 year warranty.

Mine should be here tomorrow. I've actually seen Serious Sam 2 on it when ATI had their mall kiosk to demonstrate the 9700 and I was extremely impressed at how that game looked on this monitor. That's why I've been waiting so long to buy one! They didn't have CS so I can't tell how it will look (CS doesn't run on 1280x1024 as far as I know) but I'm looking forward to seeing it in action tomorrow!

just called customer spport at dell. 3 year only covers it if it is bought with the system. if you buy it separately it is 1 year warranty.

i still haven't gotten mine. i wonder if paying through a preferred account to save the extra $25 would cause a delay. Has anyone gotten theirs and went through the preferred account too?

I noticed you don't get much information from the web site. It just say "In transit". I called the number from the order confirmation email and it gave me the UPS tracking number.

Status: In Transit
Scheduled Delivery: Jan 31, 2003

Sweet!

Yes, as soon as it's plugged in, the guilt goes away. I have 2 1800FP's in a dual monitor configuration, they are beautiful.

I got my monitor yesterday. Had it plugged into an old GF1 DDR video card at work that has both the digital and analog connections. For 2d the digital interface looked brighter and cleaner then the analog interface from the same card. Last night at home, it looked great in quake2 pb, q3 and prefect in nfshp2 with all the eye candy on over the analog cable from my old GF2 GTS. I am very happy with my impulse buy. I just wish that I had gotten one for me to use at work.

Congratz to all that got one.

Bastard!!! ;)

Sorry, I'm just incredibly jealous...

Then again, I can still flaunt my single 1800FP to all my CRT-impaired friends out there

How much does UPS suck? They get the monitor in at the local center at 10:25 PM. Apparently that would be too much work to get it onto the next days truck. So I wait a day.

Then their sucky driver takes over. This guy writes up the "Info Notice" stickers as he drives. He grabs mine (doesn't even get the box out of the truck), runs to the door, sticks it on the door, rings the doorbell, runs back to the truck and drives away. So I wait yet another day. Time to call and complain again, but they don't really care, do they.

I ordered 4 , and 3 have shipped, but fourth is backordered for 2 weeks...Problem is I need to install in Same Office next week, and need 4, not 3...looks like I will have to either order one thru dreaded e*ay, or else buy 4 compaq 8030's ($100 more!) and dump the Dells - BUMMER

what is the best way to test these things out for dead pixels etc
i have mine connected analog and it asks what refresh rate i want
is there any advantage of picking greater than 60 with these things since 60 is what it supposedly does
