Couldn't tell you...their wussy little servers couldn't handle the stress so I can't even get to the site.

They prolly run their site off a cluster of Dell 8250's running Windows XP Home Edition.

Wouldn't surprise me...the IT department was probably trying to order a bunch of new ones to increase the server farm all at once, and that brought the system down.

Damn Dell's site is getting hosed.

You'd think as one of the largest PC manufacturer's they could handle the AT effect.

NEVER underestimate the AT/FW/TB effect!

And there goes the monitor I had in the process of being checked out..how convenient when there was something for a price that seemed too good to be true Dell "goes down".

You wouldn't believe this, but I just got in again, now the price is back to $799.20. I'm thoroughly confused now.

I supposedly got one and this was like 4 hours ago. I financed it through the small business so it should go through. Not bad they gave me a $5,000 credit line and also using the credit line I got 1.5 percent off the price.

And yes for me the dell site is down now even the secure stuff to check the order and get email notify when it gets shipped.

I almost bought this earlier (for the discounted price), but decided against it. If you get one of these 20" LCDs, doesn't that mean you basically have to always use 1600x1200 in everything or the picture quality degrades substantially? Given that its tough to run a lot of games smoothly at 1600x1200, does this LCD appeal mostly to non-gamers? I would think gamers currently would prefer a 1280x1024 monitor for optimum image quality.

In the last 4 weeks I've bought 4 of these at work and I must say WOW.. even at 1100.00 these were a sweet monitor.. I can't believe how low they are. If the state of california wasn't 25 billion in debt I'd buy a few more heheehehe.
If you are wanting a LCD and have the money.. DO IT NOW.. this is awesome.

Good news: 2000FP still shows $799 at Dell SB

Bad news: After adding it to your cart and proceeding to check out you get the following error message or no message at all:

Site's still down for me...whatever they did to it was pretty hardcore.

Michael Dell: "Why didn't we take any orders on December 11th?"
Network admin: "Umm...all of our webservers were down."
Michael Dell: "Oh that's ok...things happen. Why not take tomorrow off...oh, and you might want to pack for an extended trip while you're at it."

AHH!!! SO TEMPTING!!! MUST RESIST! HELP!

Frankly dunno if I'll like the Dell 2000FP over my SGI 1600SW. Love the extra "space" a widescreen LCD offers. Thinking I might have buyers remorse if I buy. :( Had around 6 hours to think about it too and still can't decide. :|

I've seen both screens and trust me, I would easily take the Dell 2000 FP over the SGI 1600SW. The 1600SW is not as crisp, has ghosting problems and not as big as the 2000 FP.

seemed like if you use ebates, Dell would revert the price back to $1139 before discount. So it's no go for me with ebates....damn, I ordered it anyway without ebates.com.....

But the 2000FP only has a max of 350:1 contrast vs. 500:1 contrast of the 1900FP. In what applications will the lesser contrast be a setback?

This is a very hot deal for a very good monitor and I dont want to thread crap but the looks of the monitor leave a lot more to be desired. Look at the 19", 18", 17" FP series, they are really good looking.
