Does anyone know for SURE if the $999 price is a new price that is here to stay? Part of my brain is saying, "put in your credit card # and submit!!", but another part is saying "No you jackass, you will be broke and your girlfriend will dump your ass". ugh... I really need to stay away from the hot deals forums.

Could be. Dell, like other merchants, might have been spooked by poor pre-xmas sales and now want to unload this expensive stuff before it's too late.

Looks like Dell Home S&P has also lowered their price on the Dell 2000 FP LCD to $999 before discount (from $1399). They only have a 10% off discount though so it comes out to $899. Looks like this price is here to stay.

Arg! I just got the M992 for $170 the last time they had 20% off plus other coupons. If I can stack the 5% coupon for SB that I got in an email a couple of days ago I am going to HAVE to get this. $750 for a 20" LCD is just too good to pass up. If I cant afford my college tuition next semester I am blaming all of you!!!!

FYI - The Dell 2000FP still shows as $799.20 before adding to my cart and no I don't intend on buying it.

Don't forget the 5% off stackable coupon and another 3% or 2% off.

Check out this guy on Ebay.

He is running a major scam selling 23 of the 20 inchers at $899 with "free shipping"

Notice how he says "Thanks for the overwhelming response" and that he is doing it "again". Then look at his past deals via his rating....he's never SOLD anything.

So, basically, he's trying to scam people (I guess I Could be off here, but sure looks that way).

Comes out for me as a NY resident to $823.78. Hell of a deal, but too rich for my blood.

LOL, so funny. As of right now, there are more 2000FP monitors on eBay than there were in the whole previous month combined. AT/FW strike again! :D

The 1800FP I ordered last night shipped this morning! :Q

The est delivery time was 1-2 weeks.

Too bad Dell SB didn't offer free next day shipping :(

Now my parents' have inherited my 17" CRT :)

Bah I hate you guys, made me spend $806 after tax to IL for this 2000FP =). Now if I can get my gf to actually talk to me in the next few weeks, thats the real challenge.

Thanks for the deal!!

Yeah, isn't it. And how about the ones with wives! Even worse! :Q I'll just sell my LCDs on eBay anyway.

This one looks pretty nice although the contrast ratio isn't as high, only 350:1 (with a min of 250:1). I don't really know how much of a difference this makes though. It has lots of connections to, D-Sub 15 (VGA I'm guessing?) DVI, SVideo, and Composite. if you can only have 1 plugged in at the same time or if you can use multiple ones like with the 1900FP?

ALso, looks like Dell Home has 10% off monitors hence the 900 and not 1000, and SB has 20% off.

Don't worry just call them and ask them to honor their 30-day low price guarantee.

[wake up mode]

Alert me when the 23" LCD monitors are priced at $800.

[back to sleep mode]

Actually, this is a great deal for the 20" monitor. Especially, when you consider that the 19" flat panels were this price 5 months ago.
