As of this second, if you click on my original link on page 1, the deal is still going at $749.

Just a quick note here, if you plan on running dual with the 2001fp it would be best to get a 1703 instead of an 1800. The reason is the pixel pitches on the 2001 and 1703 are almost identical, i.e. they will match for font sizes etc a bit better than having the 1800.

Also, on the dual monitor deal, there are a few options. There are agp cards with dual dvi, but i think they are a bit on the spendy side. My longer term plan was to get a gf 5200 pci (you can find these for $60-$70 on newegg) and run a 1703fp off that, while using my agp card for the 2001. Lastly you can do the vga->dvi adapter, or use the vga input on the monitor, but i wouldn't recommend that. Better to spend the $70 for a dedicated card.

I ordered one of these on saturday, but my ship date is dec 22. I'm not quite sure how any of you are getting this quicker than that.

Often I've had Dell quote a ship date of 2-3 weeks into the future only to ship the item that I've ordered in 2-3 days instead. I think their ship dates are just a worst-case scenario and they do it so that they can appear to exceed your expectations. In any event, I'd be surprised if all of these don't ship within the next week.

That's what I read too.

Mine is here - just got to the office this morning. Amazing shipping time.

Problem: wife does not know it's been bought. Wait until Christmas to open it or rush home tonight and hook it right up.....

Well, we all know which one is going to happen!

Anyway, they're obviously shipping these.

What day did you place your order?

Look at the thread starter, it was him. Assuming he ordered right around the time he posted, about 6 PM PST Friday night. I ordered right before I posted, assuming no more than an hour later than he pprior did, yet I still havent recieved a shipping confirmation yet. I'm dont know how they prioritize their shipping though...but if its in order of when you ordered it, if I was an hour behind in ordering, I'm at least a day behind in shipping...who knows though...why arent there any Dell reps here???

I'm afraid if I enter anything in there my credit card company will reject it. However I can't check out unless I do.. What did you guys do?

You need to use your real name in place of a company name. This is especially important if there is a rebate involved because the rebate check gets written out to the business. You won't be able to cash it unless you use your full name!

I ordered mine about 5 min before I posted. I've got at least another hours worth of work here at the office, but I think I'm bugging out to go play with this toy...there's always tomorrow to catch up on my work (self employed).

for those who were wondering, I asked the Dell representatives about the restocking fee for returning this monitor and this is what they had to say:

Please note that all non-defective returns for retail software
and peripherals are subject to a 15% restocking fee for all Small
Business customers.
I show that monitor on the order is a Dell monitor and hence
no restocking fees will be charged if the item is returned within
the 30 days from the invoice date.

Thank you for choosing Dell!

Have a wonderful day!

Respectfully,
Derek
