(DEAD) Cheap Burgers at McDonalds. --==NOW even CHEAPER==--

Kelemvor

Lifer
Having to pay too much for your taxes, go to McDonalds on 4/14/04 and you can get Hamburgers for $.49 and Cheeseburgers for $.59.

They were handing out pamphlets on the one I went to today so I guess it could be regional...

EDIT: Posted from Memory last inght but now that I have the shset in front of me, they are actually:

Hamburger: $0.39
Cheeseburger: $0.49

Limit of total per customer per visit.

It does say participation is based on operators decision so it may not be a national thing...

More or less. I quit eating beef for about 2 weeks, when it finally occurred to me that due to the BSE vectors, if madcow is rampant, odds are very good I already have it.

Now I just eat beef about once a week. Probably pointless, since the beef I eat is the low grade crap that would be infected anyway (i.e. fast food burgers and chili dogs. Mmmm, chili dogs.)

There was a recent study that showed a spongiform encephalopathy (don't recall if it was the bovine variant or not) could be carried by a generation of animals that exhibited no symptoms. Furthermore, there is a strong possibility of interspecies transmission, so that chicken sandwich you are eating is not necessarily as safe as you believe.

IOW, if BSE is actually present in quantity (and the only way to know is to test every cow, which is something that isn't done in the U.S.), then everyone who isn't a strict vegetarian is royally fscked, courtesy of the USDA.

Which basically means that if you avoid industrially processed/packaged meat and *don't* get BSE, you're going to be sharing the country with a handful of vegans and 250 million bloating corpses, and what's the point in that.

May as well eat the beef and not worry about it.

These use to be normal prices back in the late 80s if I remember correctly.

I'll make sure I bring a couple people with me.

hell no, im eating more beef now than ever! less people buying means more steak for me 🙂

Is that really that low a price for you guys? I assume that deal is for the states, up here in Canada, McDonald's regularly drops their burger prices to like, $0.69-0.79. I prefer Harvey's up here though, they used to run an ad that had a picture of a burger, next to which it read: $1.88. Any cheaper and you'd be suspicious."
😛

Damn, it's been so long since I've been there. You mean they don't offer $0.39 cheeseburgers on Sundays anymore? What about regular hamburgers for (I think it was) $0.29 on Wednesdays?

blah to mcdonalds 🙁

I remember when growing up in the dead of winter our local McDonalds would sell their cheese burgers for whatever the temperature was outside. On the days it got below 0 they were .1 cent. Now I don't even like McDonald's but that was a Hot Deal! 😀
