Gonna be delivered tomorrow. Thanks Anandtech Hot Deals forum!

Lets hope my 413 Watt power supply can handle it. 480 Watt requirement is a little high I think.

Just make sure your PSU can supply around 20A to the +12v rail and you should be fine.

Nvidia changed it or BFG?

The BFG 6800 Ultra Overclocked says 480W minimum right on the box. BFG also sells their own 550W power supply because of this.

Anyone have a deal on a 550W power supply? Is the Antec True Power 550W the best way to go?

ZipZoomFly is listing it on sale through 12/20 for $94.99 shipped 2 day air.

Gee, I wonder why BFG didn't change it after nvidia did. 😛

edit: I just got mine! When it was delivered, I don't know. It was sitting out by my door and the box was cold so it was probably outside for a while. It's the regular Ultra fan version, no water block.

Just got back home and both Ultras were waiting for me. For the guys that got theirs, did the anti-static bag appear to be opened before? For both of my cards, there was a yellow caution sticker that was stuck over another yellow sticker which was already ripped open.

Also wondering what version BIOS shipped with your cards. On the back of my cards, both had stickers saying 5.40.02.15.11.

Got my Ultra today as well 😀. The yellow paper was not ripped for me.

And oh I am running an Vantec Ion B 400 W, I have had zero problems so far and I have been benchmarking/playing Doom3 most of the day. THIS CARD IS AWESOME!

I haven't opened mine yet. No urge yet.

As for the anti-static bag appearing to be open, don't worry. That was done at BFG. Workers at BFG in IL opens all Ultras that come in and take the heatsink off and replace the stock thermal paste with Arctic Silver. That's why it appears open. They don't do this with any other cards. Just the Ultras.

The reason they use white retail cardboard plain boxes is that when the Ultras were first released, they didn't have official boxes for it. But they wanted to get the card to the people who preordered so they shipped it in these plain white boxes. Well BFG got positive response from people about the boxes as people didn't care about the box design, just the card. So that white box stuck.

Mine was waiting for me also, although the DHL tracking number said it would be delivered tomorrow. Nice surprise.

My antistatic bag's seal wasn't broken.

Oh, and my 430 Watt Enermax is doing well with it. Glad to hear a 400 is doing good too!

Thanks, that's more reassuring. But I still don't know why others didn't have their anti-static bag's opened while mine were.

OK I finally opened mine. Mine also had yellow sticker stuck over another ripped yellow sticker. But like I said this is perfectly normal.

So far I notice no difference over my previous BFG 6800GT OC I sold. I do dig the dual DVI.

I'm surprised at how quiet this thing is. I'm finally going to have to play with AA & AF settings. The difference between 1600x1200 and 1024x768 isn't as much as I thought it would be. Never had a card that could handle it.

Looks like Dell pulled all 6800 video cards. Must be due to all of the hot deals with the Dellf coupons ... greedy b@st@rds 🙁
