(Dead) BFG 6800 OC with Far Cry, add HL2, $220 - $250 AMIR

Starting Sunday, Nov 28 until Saturday Dec. 4, Best Buy with have the BFG GeForce 6800 OC 128 MB DDR AGP graphics card with Far Cry included on the package. You must also purchase Half Life 2 on the same receipt to qualify for a $105 MIR. $300 card + $55 HL2 = $355 - $105 MIR(card + HL2) = $250.

EDIT:Some people are reporting that this card is ringing up at $270. Therefore the deal would be $270 + $55 HL2 = $325 - $105 bundle = $220

You need to purchase the card and HL2 to qualify for the $105 MIR. Far Cry is bundled with the 6800 OC. The ad is listed in the Sunday flier, but the actual rebate is not. You will need to get the MIR at the store or online, starting tomorrow.

Can you get a different PC game, maybe after I buy Half Life I can go and exchange the game to another one if it?s still sealed, is that possible?
Thanks

Probably not since you might need the upc code.

UPC of both the game abd the video card? If yes then I am out of luck.

Worth noting++

BFG's warranty kicks ASS, so make sure you keep the stock HSF if you need to RMA or something....but you'll really, REALLY want to replace the HSF on these cards. Those two fans really are *amazingly* loud.

No, really - it'll surprise you exactly how irritating they are.

RE: the deal

Does anyone know who the rebates are *through*? Best Buy sometimes....takes their time with rebates. Are these mfg or BB rebates?

According to the rebate form, no UPC's are required. The only proof of purchase requirements are the rebate form and a copy of the sales receipt, plus the SKU's of both products. So it looks like it might be possible to return the game and get something else.

hmm saw this in the bestbuyad and was contemplating buying it.. just bought a 9600xt for my bro's computer might pick this up for the computer i'm gonna build.. not sure if i want to spend around $280 after taxes & rebates though

Hell, I spent $400 on the GT.

And I'm as happy as a little girl.

Isn't the SKU near the UPC? So don't you have to cut it out anyway?

I had picked this card up from BB last week and when I went to install it my computer came up but my LCD didn't come out of suspend. The extra power was connected and everything. That was the "real" reason I returned the card, other than the dust buster loudness of the fans.

i just picked this up at orlando east bb, and the price on the card dropped to $269 at the register... didn't say anything at the shelf...

seems to make it a hotter deal?

IIRC, if it's a Best Buy rebate, BB's system will track whether an item was returned or not, so the rebate will be denied if the item were returned. (Notice the little bar code on the receipt?)

BB already sells the BBA 256MB x700 Pro for $199. It has some advantages over the 6600GT AGP 128MB and is pretty close in performance.

I read the same thing on another forum. With the BB rewards zone card it's even cheaper.

It runs quiet as a mouse in my computer. Not quite sure what noise levels you are used to Ryland. Unless you're running a zalman or some whisper quiet HSF, I seriously doubt you will be bothered by the fans.
