<< Thanks for the "anand rules" pointer. I did not know that posting a code is so "dangerous." Hey, you learn all the time.
This "deal" stinks.
Search, hope for coupon, wasten more time filling up forms, taxes, buy additional stuff ...
All that for $60+ rewriter with dubious trademark?

You go to Dell and get LiteOn 40x rewriter for $20 more hassle free and without wasting time.
>>

Took me about 2 minutes last time to find everything when I got in on one of these deals due to MysticMan1. And I saved around $30. Was well worth my time.
If this is to time consuming and a hassle for you one can only wonder how you cope with life?

Nice. My drive was scheduled to ship on May 7 but it arrived today. Stupid internet tracking. Anyway I got a Lite-On with this drive.

Just a follow-up to my post above. After one OM denied me, I was able to PM Staples for the $99.98 price (which they matched 115%).
Since I took it back on Sunday, I was also able to get a rebate receipt dated the 28th which can be used for the $40 rebate (not $30 as I had originally bought it for).

Oh, and I received a Lite-on as well.

I printed a deal for this drive for staple.com and used 20$ off 100$ and went to Office Max. I PM there price of 129.99 and got it.
that was:
129.99$
-30$ PM for staples ( I realy didn't want to try my luck for 115%PM)
-25% cupon
-40$ rabate
35$ plus 5.25$Ohio tax
40.25 for Lite on ( first I thought that is Verbatum because that was without Smart burn, but when I open that inside is LTR-32123S )
:)Nice deal

You don't need to go the same OM. I have 2 that are local, so I first tried one that I didn't buy at (happened to be near that one). The manager was about to give it to me, but then said that he couldn't PM since the price after rebate at OM was the same as the Staples price. I decided not to press him, and just went to the OM where I bought it where they accepted it.

I don't know if you can PM items you purchased on-line in a OM store. What you can do to find out is call your local OfficeMax store and tell the manager that you bought a CD-RW drive on-line and saw it on sale for less at staples and can you bring in your receipt to the store to get the price ajusted under their low price guarantee, but if he want to include the $30 rebate (which he's suppose to do) then there wouldn't be a PM anyway.

Just verified a bunch of things.

Officemax (B&M) 115% pm to Staples.com : 129.99 - 34.50(115% pm) - 25(25off100) - 40(MIR) = 30.49

Called officemax, they will pm to staples.com 115% and take the coupon. So there you go, of course if you do the discover, you can get it cheaper.

Just got the deal. But I have to rant and rave a bit. I said I called the store few minutes before I went in. I spoke with the manager and he put it on hold for me. He even took down my name. Anyhow, I asked him if I could pricematch with 115% with staples.com since there is no local staples in my area, and he said yes you may, but bring in the printed out copies of the staples.com price. I went in and picked up the burner (of course it's the Lite-On) and he says to me, and showed him the print outs of the staples.com and 25 off 100. He says we aren't supposed to pricematch a .com but I'll give it to you this time, but without the 115%. Anyhow, I said 4 bucks isn't a big deal but when you tell me otherwise over the phone you can't just tell me another thing when I come in. He's an idiot anyhow. So he let's me have it for 99.99 with the 25 off 100. In the end after taxed it was 82.xx. Then 40 rebate so it's 40 after MIR and PM. Hope you guys are all lucky, go get these from all OFFICEMAXES and make em pay!
