Antec upgrades family of cases to feature 80 PLUS® certified power supplies for environmentally-friendly computing
Fremont, CA - September 11, 2007 - Antec, Inc., the leading global provider of high-performance components for the gaming, PC Upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, announced today that it has upgraded its entire line of New Solution Series desktop enclosures to feature its high-efficiency 80 PLUS® certified power supply units (PSUs).
80 PLUS® is an innovative, electric-utility-funded incentive program to integrate more energy-efficient power supplies into desktop computers and servers. Most PSUs are only 60 to 70% efficient, wasting up to 30 to 40% of the energy they consume. 80 PLUS® certified PSUs operate at 80% or greater efficiency in most modes and can cut energy waste by as much as half. This makes the new cases the perfect starting point for building Energy Star 4 compliant systems.
