Antec Offers an Energy Efficient New Solution Series
Antec upgrades family of cases to feature 80 PLUS® certified power supplies for environmentally-friendly computing

Fremont, CA - September 11, 2007 - Antec, Inc., the leading global provider of high-performance components for the gaming, PC Upgrade and Do-It-Yourself markets, announced today that it has upgraded its entire line of New Solution Series desktop enclosures to feature its high-efficiency 80 PLUS® certified power supply units (PSUs).

80 PLUS® is an innovative, electric-utility-funded incentive program to integrate more energy-efficient power supplies into desktop computers and servers. Most PSUs are only 60 to 70% efficient, wasting up to 30 to 40% of the energy they consume. 80 PLUS® certified PSUs operate at 80% or greater efficiency in most modes and can cut energy waste by as much as half. This makes the new cases the perfect starting point for building Energy Star 4 compliant systems. In addition, system integrators who utilize 80 PLUS® compliant products are eligible for monetary returns and other benefits as part of the 80 PLUS® Channel Partner Benefits program.

"Antec acknowledges the growing need for green-computing products for ecological and economical reasons," said Scott Richards, Antec's senior vice president. "As the company continues to evolve, we want to keep our products as up-to-date and efficient as possible and see an opportunity to reflect this in our award-winning New Solution Series. In upgrading with 80 PLUS® power supplies, we have the concerns of our environmentally conscious customers in mind, providing more options for clean computing at no extra cost."

The cases in the New Solution Series that have been upgraded include the NSK1380, NSK1480, NSK2480, NSK3480, NSK4480, NSK4480B (black) and the NSK6580. The NSK1380, a cubic microATX enclosure with a compact design, can either be used as a desktop PC or mobile gaming case. The NSK2480 is a microATX desktop enclosure, while the NSK1480 is a low profile media center case. The NSK3480 is a mini tower desktop enclosure equipped to handle a microATX motherboard. Finally, the NSK4480, NSK4480B and the NSK6580 offer standard ATX cases in mini-tower or mid-tower format.

All of the New Solution Series enclosures come with 80 PLUS® certified power supplies, and are currently available for an estimated street price range of

$89.95 - $119.95 through major retailers, e-tailers and distributors. They are backed by Antec's Quality 3-Year Warranty for parts and labor. For additional product information and full technical specifications, please visit www.antec.com

Anyone know the differences between the NSK2480 and ths NSK2400? Is it just the thickness of the metal in the case?

Thanks.

After I added this to my cart, there was a section on the page that said any order from buy.com over $15 was eligible for a free magazine subscription to either PC Magazine, Computer Shopper, or Maxim. There was a note on there that said if you didn't want the magazine, you could submit a rebate for it's stated value, $10. (I printed out the form)

So, perhaps the OP should reflect this...you could get this case for a final cost of $65!

There was a similar $10 subscription refund for something I bought from Newegg a long time ago.

Took forever (like a year), but the rebate check eventually did show up.

:)

i think the series without the 80 , doesnt have the earthwatts psu. it has the SU-380 which is well, a crappy psu (well i had one for a bit and it made a weird electrical buzzing noise). thats the same psu that comes in like the nsk4400 .

I have the nsk2400 which appears to be the same thing basically and it is nice and good build quality and all but quite large for a matx htpc case imo.

What is it? I always thought that this only supports microATX.
