just bought two yesterday for $89.
Why are these Samsungs so cheap?
Just curious what drives you guys get - /Z4 in the P/N means refurb
If I were to make two guesses:
1.) Samsung has a lower profit margin and doesn't charge as much of a premium for their hdd's brand line compared to other drives(that's why it seems to be lower on average comparatively).
2.) Korean Won (Korea's currency) has been hit really hard these days so the exchange rate is favorable to us Americans. This encourages them to cut prices even more, though our currency has been rapidly declining too.

Well, the 2TB drive is back down to $80 with promo code EMCZZZN33. I just got one yesterday from superbiiz for $90 and thought I was a real big pimp.
Starting to move 10 TBs of data...
I contacted newegg asking for reimbursement after buying the same drive for $20 more 5 days ago, and they refunded me $10 =)
