Daytona 500 tomorrow, anyone watching?

Could be interesting, "Side-drafting" is becoming a major player these days as restrictor-plate racing yields dangerous conditions for the drivers, if your a fan of huge crashes, don't miss..

Not interested in continuous left turning.

NASCAR feel's you so they made the rules, (restrictor plates, namely) to ensure chaos will erupt during the race, (referred to as "the big one" at super-speedways), lot's of expensive metal goes flying all around and sometimes there's even massive amounts of flames!,

Right, but how about taking off restrictor plates to have badasser crashes?😎

Yeah, it should be a total wreck fest. In the Sprint Unlimited last week, the field started with 18 cars and ended with 8 running on the lead lap 🙂

By the way, don't forget to join the ATOT Fantasy Nascar Pool if you think that you know turning fast and going left better than the rest of us.

The plates were put on in the late 80's, once Bill Elliot topped 210 MPH NASCAR got concerned that a car might make it through the fence and wind up in the grandstands, the drivers hate the plates, Dale Sr. was specially adamant about how they "ruined" real racing at Daytona and Talladega.

Still not getting the explanation considering on other tracks, cars go 200mph. Can't imagine that 200mph vs 210mph is that different.

The real question regarding restrictor plates should be left up to the spectator. After all, they are visiting an event with risks.

I'm going to watch it mainly because nothing else is on. Same reason I watched most of the truck and nationwide race. Both were fairly boring. Hate the super speedways.

That was 210mph back in 1985?. They would go a little bit faster now.

I'll be tuning in for sure. I don't follow NASCAR like I used to but I still enjoy watching the races.

I went to the first CART race at Fontana Speedway in the 90s. The average lap speed was 240mph.

The following year Greg Moore lost his life at that track.

None too pleased with the nationwide race yesterday. Asscar, with their changes to the nationwide cars somehow gave us the plague of single file pack racing. Amazing. The past few years the trucks along with nationwide were exceedingly more entertaining than sprint cup during speed weeks because you could actually pass. No more. I get enough follow the leader style racing when f1 season starts. I don't need this shit. :colbert:

Yeah the no pushing rule has made the racing on the super speedways even worse which I didn't think was possible. I'm really hoping they black flag a couple really popular drivers today for it because all the bitching about it will be more interesting than the race.
