Daylight Savings Time or Standard Time, whih do you prefer?

I really don't like Standard TIme. First of all, even when I have classes, it's nightmarish to try to make 9 AMs, so I'm never up before the sun is in either case. Secondly, I much perfer having sunlight in the evening than in the morning, being that I'm asleep and all.

so lazy bastards like me can get an hour of daylight when we actually need it

Where do you live? The sun rises at about 6:45 here, and we don't switch times.

its something like that here
understand that there are more nights I go to bed after that than waking up before that
in fact the last time I ever woke up that early was to catch a flight
early for me is 9 AM.....early on a weekend is like 11

standard. when you look up at 12 noon the sun should be overhead. in austin, its halfway down. frickin' ridiculous. only good thing about it is that i sit so high up texas memorial stadium that i was in the shade of the east deck until after halftime for okie state.

I'm on a screwy schedule too. I wake up at 11:45pm, go in at midnight and work till noon. I sleep from about 4-11:45.

It really only needs to be dark for 10 hours. Let's start there. We can decide when it's dark after we tackle this.

The rises LATER on Daylight Savings Time. And stays out LATER. As of last night we switched from Daylight Savings -> Standard. Hence it rising earlier and going down earlier.

Daylight time! I hate coming home in the dark/near dark. Keeps you from doing anything outside when you get home.

which is why noon is now at noon and not at 1

I lived in Georgia most of my life until I moved to Indiana a little over two years ago. I have come to the conclusion that the whole daylight savings time business has got to be one of the worst ideas anyone dreamed up. Changing the time back and forth every 6 months is purely ridiculous and most people don't realize how stupid it is because they have done it for all or most of their lives. I am telling you, Indiana has the right idea and the rest of the world has it all wrong. Just leave the time where it is and live with it. You just don't realize how much you can do without "saving time" until you live somewhere that you don't have to worry about it.

not everyone does it. hawaii is a state that doesn't follow it . daylight savings time is supposed to help the farmers or something.

Standard. I stand by my case that changing time is stupid.

What's the point?

Same here. I too prefer standard time. IIRC wasn't DST originally used to save electricity in certain places?

Standard time. I dislike the ammount of sunlight at noon, and the way I sleep, it's always either dusk, night, or dawn. 🙂

Daylight Savings TIme should be year round. When I leave for work now, it's dark, and by the time I get home, it's dark.

Except for those malcontent in Indiana. they never switch.

b@stards!

Well if Indiana ever goes Daylight Savings Time, I think that a huge farmer militia will come and declare Marshal Law on Indiana:Q

Daylight Savings Time is the debil:disgust:
