I was in Seattle, WA on a business trip earlier this week, and decided to pick up a bottle of Dave's "Insanity" hot sauce. I read somewhere that this stuff was some of the hottest sauce around, and I figured I would give it a try.

I threw some Chicken Wings in the deep fryer and added about 2 drops of Daves "insanity" hot sauce to a mixture of Frank's Red Hot Sauce. Added a little melted butter to thicken up the sauce, then coated the Chicken Wings. Result: almost un-edible!! I ate 2 wings and the rest are sitting here infront of me getting cold. My tongue feels like someone took a blowtorch to it.

it is THE hottest sauce on the planet. Also the first one to use the chilli extract for the hotness...which also happens to be the same thing pepper sprays are made from....

I saw a thing on it on discovery maybe 2 weeks back. The sauce is not actually made from peppers straight - dave uses a mix of peppers for taste and adds the chilli extract to make it inflammable.

Shoulda used more of the hot sauce. If you had used enough, your tastebuds would burn away and you would no longer be in pain. :)

Bah. It may be hot, but what's the point if it obliterates the actual flavor?

If the US Military want's to get prisoners to speak, they should force this stuff down their throats. Torture in a different form.

Applauds Jzero. That's what I've always thought. I love a tasty, spicy sauce that you can enjoy not one that is simply hot for the sake of being hot and makes you not want to eat the food.

How is the taste, though? There's no point in eating something insanely hot if the "hotness" overpowers the taste so much that it doesn't taste anything.

it's not the hottest, but it definetly is hot .

got to the point where i could use a couple drops in a bowl of chili no problem. My brother brought home some blazin wings from bw3's, they were nothing.

I eventually grew out of it and am back to tabasco.

I have a habit of putting hot sauce on my pizza before I eat it. One day at work we ordered pizza, and I found that I was out of tabasco sauce. One of my coworkers had some of this insanity sauce, and told me that it was rather like tabasco. So, being the idiot that I am, I took him at his word and slathered my slice of pizza with this sauce...

I could not speak for the next 30 minutes, and tears were running down my face for the next hour. One of the most uncomfortable things I have ever experienced.

Revenge was mine several weeks later when at my house this same coworker asked me to make him a bloody mary. Needless to say, it was "extra hot."

Tastes bitter compared to traditional hot sauces.

I've got an even worse story. Superbowl sunday, I was of course spicing up a bowl of chili with Dave's insansity sauce. Got a bit on my fingers, so I rinsed them off with water really quick and sat down at the tv to watch the game and eat my chili. Probably 15 minutes later I got up to go to the bathroom and apparantly I had not completely rinsed all of the daves. I jumped in the shower real quick, and spent the rest of the game on the couch with an ice bag on my crotch

I did basically the same thing one time on a taco bell taco. Ran that stuff up and down the thing... Yum yum as i ate the whole thing (I was drunk) ...before long i was drinking out of the kitchen sink and swishing pepsi around in my mouth. I love hot food, but man this stuff was "insane"

My friend had to go to the hospital once because that insanity sauce was so hot it made his mouth and throat swell up.

Wow, Dave's sauce is on the lower end of that list. If Dave's sauce is hot, I can't imagine what the Blair 6 A.M. sauce must be like.

Is the Scoville Rating linear? If Dave's Ultimate Insanity Sauce has a SR of 90,000 and Tabasco has a SR of 2,500.....

90,000 / 2,500 = 36

Surely that doesn't mean that Dave's sauce is 36 times hotter than Tabasco, does it?

if you like hot/spicy food then everybody owes to themselves to pick up

Blairs original death sauce

So much flavor and mild heat wise. Its got an awesome smoky habenero taste without overpowering.

I have learned, through experience, that Hotsauce in = Hotsauce out. So if it hurts while eating it, but you carry on anyway, well, it's gonna hurt again later too.

Once Bitten, twice shy!
