I like it. I like the risk they take by not making something that sounds like a band that performs in shitty bars doing Floyd covers.

Yup... Note for note covers are like paint by numbers books. Ooh... I really like the way he substituted beige for the number brown there... :^D

I don't even like when the original band does that crap. If you're gonna play the record live, I might as well stay home and save the money. I don't need to pay them $70 for something I already payed $12 for.

I didn't think it was bad, but the good of it came from the original tune and not anything they did with it. If you dip Kobe steak in kool-aid it probably still tastes pretty good.

Money isn't a stand out track on this album. There are better ones for sure. I do think you have to completely reject what your brain is telling you what a Pink Floyd record should sound like.

First off, Phish does better EXACT covers of PF than any other band, though DT does quite nicely.

But! Who the fuck cares if some band plays the song so it sounds exactly like the original band that did it?!?! Eww! I like covers. Sometimes I love covers. But I have never loved a cover that was just a CD remake. It takes zero talent to do that, especially with Pink Floyd.

The flaming Lips are simply awesome. Everything they have ever made is pure gold, and I am so happy most people will never get that. The first time I saw them they got booed off the stage opening for Tool. Apparently metalheads, which is predominantly who listened to Tool at the time, didn't like the bubble machine or the confetti machine. BTW best concert ever! Failure, FLs, Tool.

Fortunately, this thread is not for Pink Floyd fans or Tool fans, but for Flaming Lips fans, so the rest of you can go outside and explode your heads. Thanks OP!

Party on Wayne Coyne!

LOL do they do Breathe?

That synth (sawtooth) would probably sound like farting. (or worse) D:

Whatever, they fail in this endeavor.
