Yeah the Republic party likes to do that however, it wasn't certain because McCain did consider Governor Romney for VP but chose Sarah Palin.

I heard interesting analysis that made a pretty good argument that Batman is a capitalist hero (and that Superman is a more socialist hero). Batman is obviously the rich guy uses his obscene wealth to stop crime with the Joker being the revolutionary chaotic element in society that needs to be kept down. And according to Wikipedia Bane is a character who was born in prison, who's parents were revolutionaries in a South American prison.

It's curious they managed to get the name of the 2008 movie The Dark Knight wrong. I'd also like to have seen a reference to the Frank Miller Dark Knight graphic novels from the 80s - they were highly influential and received near-universal fan and critical acclaim.

The entire thing is poorly researched. A NEW comic named "Batman" did come out in 1940 and Batman did become the star of Detective Comics, but Detective Comics was never changed to Batman Comics, in fact you can still buy Detective Comics at your local comic book store.

The 1950's batman didn't become "sunnier" to reflect 1950's optimism. It became campier because of the Comic Code Authority. There's a whole "Seduction of the innocence" Mccarthy thing going with Batman in which it was charged that Batman was secretly making little boys gay (not making this up, research "Seduction of the innocent")

1970's Batman wasn't influenced by Malcom X or Che Guerva. Maybe a single writer could have been but Dennis O'Neil, the show-runner wasn't big into politics.

I'm certain I can find more things to complain about that graphic but just take it with a grain of salt.
