Rush Limbaugh

thinks The Dark Knights Rises might be a sneaky effort to slander Governor Romney...

o_O:rolleyes:

I do agree with some of the comments about it though.

A movie that's been in production for over a year is connected with a guy who is JUST now the Republican nominee? You're kidding me right. Seriously, you must be joking. In fact, TDKR had to finish its script first. That wasn't until God knows when. December 2010??

Nice try, Rush. GTFO.
Rush knows less about film-making than he does about politics. Shocker.
This theory clutches at straws so tightly, diamonds may result. Not really diamonds though. More like shit-diamonds.

Whisht,Limbaugh.
Of course to some people wondering why Governor Romney is against releasing more than 2 years of his tax returns is the real grasping at straws according to some people....

There is a reasonably funny video of Bane as the CEO of Bain Capital though :p

So with Limbaugh logic is he claiming The "Dark" Knight is an allegory for Obama because he's half black?

Romney was anointed back in the 2008 election. Men in the Republican Party get in line to be President.

Yeah the Republic party likes to do that however, it wasn't certain because McCain did consider Governor Romney for VP but chose Sarah Palin.

So you're telling me that Christopher Nolan back in Nov of 2008 decided that

"Yes we must make Bane the villain because it sounds so much like Bane Capital... but you know without the Capital at the end.... Yeeeessss we will crush Governor Romney mwuahahahaahahahahahah *cough* huhhuheh um yeah"

Bane goes back to 1993. This whole thing is a 20 year conspiracy? I thought only the Republicans and Illuminati had the resources to pull something like that off.

If Obama can time travel back to his birth to put an announcement in the newspaper he could easily go back 20 years to create a comic book villain.

The irony is that I can only imagine John Stewart's joking about this was the inspiration for Rush's retarded conspiracy theory.

Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot? Somebody wrote a book about that, 16 years ago.... Righties do seem a bit slow on the uptake, unfortunately.

I heard interesting analysis that made a pretty good argument that Batman is a capitalist hero (and that Superman is a more socialist hero). Batman is obviously the rich guy uses his obscene wealth to stop crime with the Joker being the revolutionary chaotic element in society that needs to be kept down. And according to Wikipedia Bane is a character who was born in prison, who's parents were revolutionaries in a South American prison.

You're retarded, it was not Rush that made the connection.

http://washingtonexaminer.com/romneys-new-foe-batmans-bane/article/2502274

"It has been observed that movies can reflect the national mood," said Democratic advisor and former Clinton aide Christopher Lehane. "Whether it is spelled Bain and being put out by the Obama campaign or Bane and being out by Hollywood, the narratives are similar: a highly intelligent villain with offshore interests and a past both are seeking to cover up who had a powerful father and is set on pillaging society," he added.

As the Friday release date has neared, liberal blogs were the first to connect Batman's toughest foe with Romney's firm.

Ah. And I guess we should ignore the fact that Bane's army of rabble is actually practicing redistribution of wealth -- something Obama supported, in a rare moment of candor, when asked about taxes by Joe Wurtzlebacher.

By the way-- "highly intelligent, with an intelligent father and offshore interests" sounds more like Batman.

If Bain Capital is so evil why do all these Democrats take their donations?

It does make sense, TDKR is about a rich white guy who hides behind his money fighting a villain from his past named Bain/Bane. ;)

Ya know, just sayin', if your party self-identifies with both the Star Wars emperor and a Batman villain, you might want to do some soul searching.

The Greatest Man In America

Ditto...

Ditto...

Ditto...

Ditto... AH!

Coming from Canada, we love those leaders who personify the US way to be.
There was JFK, and LBJ, and WKRP.

But of these there is, not one to rival
The greatest genius of them all.
He's a megalo, with a healthy glow:
He's the man called Rush Limbaugh.

He's a dose of PT Barnum
With a Mussolini twist. El duce!
There in the limosuine, parked on the lawn.
He's a goofy Gangis Kahn!

Not since Jesus Christ has the world seen someone with such widely syndicated views.
Hundreds of years from now, they'll celebrate Rushmas.
And Rush Hashana for the Jews...

Cause he'll pull the plug on Femi-nazis.
Parinoid minorities and gays.
He's a burning bush, with a network push
Sure to start a countrywide blaze.

He taught me to love and praise Charlton Heston.
Oliver North is quite a nice man too, that's what they say.
Forget Al and Tipper,
Let's bring back the Gipper
And Joe McCarthy too.

I was a troubled soul.
Consumed by voices
Advocating special interest groups and vice.
'Til Rush rushed too my sweet rescue,
Now i'll never ever have to think twice.
(never ever have to think twice)

So we'll sign a check for Limbaughism.
Restore the moral fundamental core.
We'll cut the debt,
And start a tet offensive on the poor.

It's a blitzkreig in the making. (EVERYBODY!)
It's distinctly upper class (Well, not everybody)
Yes sir, I'll get the door.
Roll the carpet on the floor.

For a man
(for a man)
For a man
(Such a man)
For a man with his head up his-

It's curious they managed to get the name of the 2008 movie The Dark Knight wrong. I'd also like to have seen a reference to the Frank Miller Dark Knight graphic novels from the 80s - they were highly influential and received near-universal fan and critical acclaim.

The entire thing is poorly researched. A NEW comic named "Batman" did come out in 1940 and Batman did become the star of Detective Comics, but Detective Comics was never changed to Batman Comics, in fact you can still buy Detective Comics at your local comic book store.

The 1950's batman didn't become "sunnier" to reflect 1950's optimism. It became campier because of the Comic Code Authority. There's a whole "Seduction of the innocence" Mccarthy thing going with Batman in which it was charged that Batman was secretly making little boys gay (not making this up, research "Seduction of the innocent")

1970's Batman wasn't influenced by Malcom X or Che Guerva. Maybe a single writer could have been but Dennis O'Neil, the show-runner wasn't big into politics.

I'm certain I can find more things to complain about that graphic but just take it with a grain of salt.

I thought people stopped listening to what Rush said after he was outed as being an oxycontin addict.

Ha! On the wikipedia page:

According to his creators, Bane was originally intended as a "dark mirror" of the highly disciplined and multi-skilled pulp hero Mitt Romney.[2]
Barry Obama, Joe Biden, and Joseph Goebels created the character for the 2012 election campaign of Barrack Obama, although it is unclear what elements were introduced by each of the two writers (Obama and Biden). Dixon wrote the character's first appearance (Vengeance of Bane),[3] with art by Graham Nolan. It is also unclear how much input was provided by Barrack Obama (veteran writer of the Batman books, then Group Editor for the Democratic Party 2012 family of socialist literature, and author of the novel adaptation of Mein Kampf). Obama had previously created Bane's hellish birthplace of a shady island tax haven in Bermuda or the Carribean in The Question and the poor financial investments Venom in the storyline of the same name (published in the pages of Legends of the Super Rich #16-20, and later reprinted as a trade paperback).[2][3] In the pages of Azrael, Obama introduced Bane's perception of Obama as both an addiction and the weakness responsible for his earlier defeats. Ultimately Romney was defeated when he was too concerned with practicing making "Cheesey Grits" and perfecting his "southern slang" and his "minority accent" for the appropriate campaign stops. The link between Bane and Romney was introduced by writer Joe Biden.[4]
Yay wikiality!

Edit: already changed back.
