Heath Ledger as the Joker = Movie Fail

Since you're likely one of a handful of people who will say that, I'm gonna say that you = fail

Well since you said so it must be true.

or you can go ahead and check rottentomatoes.com for a convenient aggregate of reviews. srsly, calling his acting "movie fail" without seeing the movie = fail

A Reddit user apparently enjoyed the movie too.

My friend just texted me. he saw it yesterday. His very short review was pretty much this:

1. Great Movie, but even at over 2 hours, some parts still felt rushed. It could have easily been a 3 hour movie without any trouble.....this story line is huge.
2. Heath Ledger pretty much stole the show. If he wanted a movie and performance to go out on, he picked the right one.

I have to wait till Monday to watch this movie🙁

Can't believe all the excitement and hype over this movie. I hope for all of you peoples' sakes that it's as good as you all hope it will be.

Why is it so hard to believe? Didn't you see the previous one?

Batman, such a corny super hero

Batman is mentally stronger than Superman. That's saying something. Sometimes it's not just about physical strength.

I hate opening weekends, period. I might go to Step-Brothers next week, but probably not. I prefer either waiting for the $3 theatre or just Netflix.

They still have cheap ticket theather at your town? All of ours are closed.

I remember that I used to pay $1 for cheap movie in the 80s, sticky floor theather and all.

I probably will watch it martine show on Sunday morning for $6. No way I will watch it on Friday/Saturday afternoon or evening. It will be pack.

Yes, I saw the previous one. It was good, but it wasn't that great.

Well I just read this negative review on rottentomatoes:

"It's jam-packed with flawlessly designed set-pieces and skullduggery, sure, but it's also shrouded in grim portent, overlaid with a filigree of despair, and, for good measure, covered in a patina of dire consequence."

I dont want to see it anymore. I hate movies that are shrouded in grim portent, especially when overlaid with a filigree of despair.

I'm going to have to reserve my final judgement for tomorrow when I see it, but from the previews and what I've seen he makes and excellent Joker.

I have a feeling that guy has never enjoyed a movie in his life. Well, maybe he could find Citizen Kane pretentious enough to enjoy.

I strongly disagree Batman Begins was awesome if The Dark Knight can do what Terminator 2 Judgement Day did for Terminator I will be very impressed.

Roger Ebert's review is finally up

He gave it 4/4 stars.

Great review and I'm glad he emphasized the fact the movie franchise is moving beyond the scope of being just a comic book movie and more of simply a movie. This apparently is what has driven some of the critics to give Dark Knight and to some extent Batman Begins negative reviews because they were expecting campy fun.

 I like campy fun sometimes but prefer that to be in a tv movie or something.

Explain.

The funny thing is I originally was thinking the same thing when they first announced he would be the Joker, just based upon some of his other works. However after seeing some of the clips of what he did with the role, it really looks like he knocked out of the park.

That guy is trying waaaaaaaaaaaaay too hard to sound smart. Clearly he's compensating for always being picked last in dodgeball.
