:Q

This is a sad day in hockey. Dan Snyder passed away.

For those that don't know. Heatley (an NHL star) crashed his ferrari with Dan Snyder in the passenger seat. The car was totalled and snyder was in a coma and never woke up. Heatley was driving 80mph and on the wrong side of the road. He'll probably be charged now and can kiss his hockey career goodbye.

charges will soon be upgraded to vehicular homocide first degree. Thats probably what drunk drivers get when killing someone.

Ya, Heatley was stupid in speeding with a ferrari like that on small road in a residential area. He'll most probably be jailed. On one hand i feel sorry for the guy because alot of people do stupid things and nothing becomes of it, but in his case the worst possible thing happened. On the other hand you think of Snyder being dead and it makes you angry towards heatley.

I don't know the exact details of the crash, but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't this just an accident? I don't think I've read anywhere that Heatley was intoxicated during the crash, and he was only going 80mph, which is not exceedingly fast to the point where I would consider it reckless. If it was only an accident, I would consider felony charges to be unwarranted. I feel sympathy for Heatley, because is such a great hockey player, and would've had a great hockey career.

:Q Heatley is only my age... and he's already had and lost an impressive hockey career. How sad for both of them. So stupid...

Personaly, I feel its almost worse that he wasnt drunk. Drinking and driving is dumb yes. But knowingly drive that fast in a residential area, on the wrong side of the road, and not being drunk means no excuse for his stupidness. He was fully aware how stupid the situation was, and why was he on the wrong side of the road? Racing?

a similar tragedy happened with nba players a few years ago, except it was two players racing, derek phelps and david wesley. phelps lost control in his porsche, hit another car head on, killing himself. I think wesley faced charges, perhaps wreckless driving, but of course nothing like what heatley will face.

In the article it says it was a narrow 2 lane road so i'm guess when he was speeding he went over into the other lane on a turn or something.

a) he'll probably go to jail
b) he has to deal with the fact that he killed one of his best friends who happened to play on the same hockey team so that would make things weird
c) I think the fans would boo the heck out of him
d) playing hockey again wouldn't feel right at all knowing what you've done.

I know. That's what i was thinking too! I mean, of all the stars EA could have chosen they happened to choose Heatley. What luck.

this reminds me of kobes situation.. these players think that theyre invincible because theyre young, rich, and independent so they take risks that the common man would never take

Any confirmation he was doing 120mph and not only 80mph ? Residential too... what a disaster. So sad to see both lives wasted on something so stupid.

here we go...probably two guys out screwing around and now the survivor gets reamed because he was the driver. These guys were sports players in a Ferrari, not church moms.

Chances are they were both fine with the speed they were going. Speed = accidents sometimes. Not like these guys aren't used to putting their a$$es on the line everytime they play.

80 in a 35 happens all the time, it's not smart but I really really doubt Dan Snyder cared they were speeding or felt threatened.
