Is it just one of those flexible plastic expanding hoses? Man I hope mine lasts longer than that.

fricken pisses me off. the part should last more then 8 months.

called a few local places. a few have them in stock. $9 and no shipping! woot.

just so fricken annoying. you figure the place you buy the damn washer from would carry the hose. nope. then they screw you on price and shipping for it!

That reminds me, I need to call LG to get a part for my fridge. Its a small plastic piece about 1" square.

Cost of part = $7
Cost of shipping = $19

Is that ridiculous or what? Paying 3x the cost of the part just for a yellow padded envelope and a buck in postage FTL

duct tape. while one the greatest inventions ever. would not have worked.

Absolutely it would. It's just a drain hose. Wrap the leak in saran wrap, re-wrap with duct tape.

done.

Really?

Slap a little shoe-goo glue over the hole, then wrap and you'd be good for a few years. There's no pressure on it.

If there is any pressure, then all bets are off.

The water duct-tape equivalent adhesive. I use this for all kinds of water sealing stuff, great stuff...just don't expect it to hold up under pressure.

http://www.eclecticproducts.com/shoegoo.htm

ohh seen that in the store.

though i theink there is a decent amoutn of pressure.

pressure or high-temps = shoe-no-goo.

that's what the duct tape/saranwrap is for. It'll tide you over for a good long time, especially if you are in a pinch.

Hate for you to do dishes by hand. That sucks.

Lowes carries duct tape. Did you think to buy some to create a temporary patch while you were there?

What is it rubbing against. 8 months is plenty long enough for a hole to wear thru if it's rubbing up against something.

I just checked mine...it has a hole on both ends. The hose should be leaking the water out so it drains.

:)

partstap.com has been good for parts for my stuff.

Thing is most of the parts are more expensive than you'd think. I needed a plastic piece that supports the glass in my fridge...just split on one of the ends. The part was $20, locally it was about $40....you even have to cut the stupid thing to fit.

The handle on both my fridge and oven were about $30 a pop...just resin.

Still the appliances I have are like new now.

It's just DW hose, nothing special. Pick it up cheap at a plumbing supply place or Ace, Lowes, etc. Couple of hose clamps and you're good to go.

Is it really that hard to do dishes by hand? I'd think the dishwasher warranty would cover it, keep calling until you get someone on the line.
