DAMNIT. I got a lump

urologist update
OK, so I went in and I was really worried about the right nut. They said the right nut is fine. A thin hydrocele around it, and a tiny spermocele.

The left one has a small cyst on the epidymis. They said it's a complex cyst, that could represent a speromcele, but that further testing is recommended to rule out a neoplasm. The urologist said that he reviewed the ultrasound and that it's DEFINITELY on the epidymis. He also asked if it's grown or changed, and I told him no not at all, it's not painful and I think it's gotten smaller. The doctor said it's not anything they'd operate on or remove at this point, and that we should just wait a few months and take another ultrasound. If it gets bigger or changes shape in the meantime, come right back in he said. Since it is a complex cyst there is still the slight chance it could be cancerous, but epididymal cancer is extremely rare and he's actually never seen it before, he also said that 9 times out of 10 these types of cyst turn out to be nothing. So best case scenario it either shrinks and disappears or stays the same size.

I guess I'm about 90% relieved. My right nut, which I always thought of as my power nut is intact. The left nut is probably fine too, so I still have depth at the nuts. I'll feel fully relieved in 6 months if they tell me it's fine.

Ultrasound update I got the ultrasound today. I'm actually really worried right now. I asked the tech if he would be able to give me results today, and he said he'd do the report today and then the doctor would tell me at the appointment we had set for October 14th. I asked the guy if he could see the lump when he was doing the procedure. He said he hadn't gotten to that side yet, and that even when he did he couldn't tell me one way or the other. So afterward he told me I could clean the gel stuff off my nuts, and that he was going to go make sure the pictures developed. When he got back he said they'd have the report ready by tomorrow. I asked him if I should wait until the 14th or if I could just call the urology clinic to get them tomorrow. He said I could wait until the 14th. After when I was leaving I saw him in the office with the receptionist whispering, when I asked them if I needed to give them a copay they both stopped and looked at me really weird.

I'm worried mainly because I think they might've been whispering about me. More than that though, he said I could wait until the 14th...isn't it usually bad news when they don't say "yeah just call tomorrow and get the results over the phone"? I've NEVER had it be good news when they tell you to wait for a followup appointment. I REALLY do not want to die. I can't even walk right now my legs are shaking so bad. This fucking sucks.

UPDATE: Saw a urologist, he ordered an ultrasound, but after he (and another guy) felt my balls he said that the lump on the left is on the epididymis and is almost certainly a spermocele, or a spermatic cyst. He felt my right nut and said it felt swollen though, probably on account of hydrocele. Neither of my nuts has anything major wrong with it, so the ultrasound is in two weeks.

So recently I've been having some discomfort in my extreme lower abdomen, on the right side. I chalked it up to pulling something while lifting at the gym. Just to be sure I checked my nuts to make sure there wasn't a lump. They seemed to be fine. The pain has persisted over the last 3 weeks, (oddly enough ONLY when I'm sitting down and only in certain chairs), so I checked again two days ago. Lump on my left nut. Well more accurately it feels more like it's on the epididymis. It's tiny, and round, about half the size of a pea. Faaaahk. I have a doctors appointment for next Thursday. Going to see if I can move it up though. I haven't been able to concentrate on anything the last couple days. I don't have any other symptoms of ball cancer, besides the lower abdomen pain, and lump on the nut/epididymis..but still cancer has to start somewhere, and I'd rather nip it in the bud. Fuck me.

Update: Saw dr. today, he's making an appt. for me to see a urologist. The lump is on the epididymis, so it's probably not ball cancer, which is a relief. Still I'd like to know what it is exactly. While he's down there maybe the urologist can tell me if the lower abdomen pain I've had when sitting is from a potential hernia.

Is it on the testicle, or the skin? If testicle - good luck. But from your symptoms it sounds like ball cancer or you're guts have extended (distended was the word I was looking for) and you have a hernia (that's you're pulling something at the gym")

If the hernia is as bad as it sounds like you describe, your ballsack is getting infected. I'd make sure to see the doc this week, immediately. Or lose your nuts to infection. It's been 3 weeks.

I'm pretty sure you have a distended hernia. Especially from where the pain is coming from, how you injured it, it hasn't gone away, and when you sit down it's worse, lower abdominal pain. Go to the fucking doctor.

How's your poop doing? Energy level?

Yeah just statisticaly a hernia is much more likely. Especially considering the workout.

Not to be gross but if OP puts his fingers up on the base of his ball sack and coughs and has wincing pain or something poking back - then hernia confirmed.

Either way, get to the doctor.

If something's poking back, then his fingers probably aren't on his nuts.

It could also be epididymitis if you have a lump there. It has similar symptoms. Does it get better if you have sex? (or jerk off)?

Either way, see a urologist.

lulz, only on ATOT. I'll stand by my posts and say he needs to go see a doctor. The longer he waits the worse it will get.

Could be anything from testicle cancer to a malignant tumor on your balls, or something in between.

Seriously tho, probably time for an ultrasound.

Agreed. Let the testy doctor test your testes.

yah, I'm going to try and move the appt. up to this thursday instead of next. I mean I don't feel sick in any way shape or form, so we'll see.

It wouldn't shock me if I have some sort of abdominal hernia/weakness. I'm not sure if the lump itself is a hernia, as it feels like it's on my epididymis, but I'm still scared

I hope it turns out to be nothing serious and remember the chances are better that it will turn out that way.

Try not to think the worst. Get that appointment moved up, and post your *sigh of relief* here after your Dr.'s appt.

I had an infection in my left epididymis when I was 14. Really, really scary - I know how you feel. But hey, it's probably not cancer and you might get a cool story to tell your friends.

I mean, really, how many of your friends have had their balls ultrasounded?!? There ya go.

Is it on the side or the bottom? I get freaked out too when I feel that "lump" on the SIDE of the ball sack. But that's a normal lump, as its on the epidydytimus (spelling).

It could be the epididymis itself. I went to the doc for something similar, except my pain was more dull and general. It was epididymitis, a generalized inflammation, usually caused by infection.

You DO need to see the doctor, but there are other things besides cancer that cause a lump there. The doctor can tell what it is by feeling it. I believe a lump should be hard and not separable from the testicle. If it pulls away, it may be inflammation of some surrounding tissue, possibly the epididymis.

Of course, I am NOT a doctor, so please go see yours. He may send you to a urologist for confirmation and treatment (antibiotics) like mine did.
