LOL you people bitching about getting busted for pot are exactly like the people bitching for getting busted for going 70 in a 60. You broke the law, you knew you were breaking the law, deal with the consequences of breaking the law.

You don't like the law? Fine, write your congressman. I personally think that pot SHOULD be legalized, but I sure as hell won't even try it until it does. Why? I have heard, and correct me if I am wrong, IT'S AGAINST THE FUCKING LAW.

...

Smoking pot is against the law.

awww. how honorable. you looking for a perfect citizen award?

hope you've never strayed above the speed limit, smoked any kind of tobacco under 18, or consumed any alcohol before turning 21 (whatever your current age may be).

unless you are one serious stick-to-the-law citizen, don't preach if all you are doing is acting as the pot and he's the kettle.

I speed often, but I sure as hell don't get pissed when a cop gives me a ticket. Why? BECAUSE I WAS KNOWINGLY BREAKING THE LAW.

I have never smoked tobacco or pot and never will, it's fucking nasty.

And I had a grand total of 2 sips of alcohol before I turned 21. Guess what? If I had gotten caught taking one or both of those sips and gotten a ticket/jail time/any other punishment, I wouldn't be bitching. Know why? I think you SHOULD be smart enough to guess but I am not so sure so I will say it for you.

IT WAS AGAINST THE FUCKING LAW.

It's against the law for women to drive in Memphis, TN without a man a consistent 50 ft ahead waving two red flags. Yet, most women in Memphis, TN drive. They should be arrested because they are breaking the "FUCKING LAW."

They should if they're breaking the "FUCKING LAW".

Meh, this thread sucks now, with all the law discussion. What happened to OP bashing?

I'm not sure how much harder it is possible to beat on him. He was hit pretty hard on the first few pages.

IT WAS AGAINST THE FUCKING LAW.

Just because the idiots in Washington can pass a law doesn't mean I have to accept, like, or "deal" with it. I can recognize when a law has no benefit towards society and serves only to benefit the people who supply the prison system and is racist in it's enforcement. "IT'S THE LAW" can not be used to justify bad or broken laws, for it just encourages the creation or more unjust laws. As an American it is your duty to protest bad government policy and any American that favors prohibition on cannabis just clueless about it's overarching effects.

I recommend you pick up a history book and actually read some American history, specifically the argument against cannabis prohibition in the early 1900s. Specifically when it was argued that freedom of speech extended to freedom of mind.

Wow read much? I agree with you on every single point. EVERY ONE!!!

You get enough people to vote on legalizing pot? I'm in. I specifically stated that I am for legalizing pot.

You want to protest the law? PLEASE DO!!!

I am hearing comparisions to Jim Crow laws. Seriously? Are you guys that stupid? This is the same how?

Also, the women driving law. Right, that's the same too. You guys are just making yourself look like idiots.

You really want to change the law? Organize. Take that money you are spending on pot and sink it into a campaign to legalize pot. Write your senator. THAT'S you duty as an American.

You can disagree with the law all you want, but fact of the matter is: you know the law, if you knowingly break the law don't come bitching to me when you have to deal with the consequences. If you don't like the law, get it changed. If you can't, then you deal with it. You live in a democracy you don't have the right to do whatever you want free of consequences, you have the right to do what your elected leaders decide is lawful.

Sorry but as much as we write and protest the senators are handed to much money by anti hemp and cannabis industries to care. Thats how it was outlawed in the first place. Consumers have no power against big industries willing to grease the plams of our corrupt politicians. As it stands in america we have laws without representation from the common man.....

ROFL

Fucking pigs.

Actually the Supreme Court over ruled sodomy laws that made it a crime between two consenting adults a few years ago.

I love the BS thepd7 is spouting. It's the FUCKING LAW, bend over and take it!! There are good laws, and there are bad laws. And there are laws that have unnecessary or too harsh repercussions. While marijuana will not be legal anytime soon, that doesn't mean you can't complain about consequences of breaking said law. Oh, and i don't think anyone specifically posted to come "bitch" at you (prior to your posts), but rather, you decided to come in this thread and bitch about the law.

And you're a little too idealistic about our current political system.

LOL I never said bend over and take it, but if you can't accept the consequences of your actions then I am not the one with the problem.

I am not idealistic, but obviously yall are so pasisonate about this subject you are doing something, right? I mean, you have written your senator, right? How about donate to a cause that is trying to legalize pot? Huh? Anyone?

OK then organize the tobacco companies to give money to the senators, do you realize how much money they will make if pot is legalized but regulated and they can sell MJ cigs?

I am hearing tons of excuses but I am willing to bet not one of you has done ANYTHING about it. If you feel pasisonately, do something. Otherwise, if you are like me, but don't care THAT much, then dela with the consequences of breaking the law.

edit: and the only way that you can have laws without representation from the common man is if the common man is an idiot and refuses to vote. If any of you don't vote on a regular basis please just stop posting immediately.

so you don't think there are ever cases where the consequences are too severe, for any crime?
as an example, is 30 years for stealing a donut and pushing an employee justice? or too harsh?

The laws are in place, the guy has 2 felonies, a third makes 3 strikes. He knew that. I never said personally I don't believe any punishment is too harsh but all are within the law and as I stated earlier you know the range of punishment BEFORE you commit the crime, or at least you could know if you wanted to. Point is, if the possible fine for speeding 10 miles over is $50-$100 and I knowingly did 70 in a 60 how can I get upset when I am fined $100 instead of $50? What gives me the right to a lesser punishment?

I'm sure this thread went well.

That said...

Jesus fucking CHRIST. All of that for 1 gram?

That is the real crime here.. good lord.

Ha! Busted for a g! Come to Cali or any decriminilized state. Even if you are underage, as long as you have under an ounce (28g), you get a ticket, not jailtime. 😛 $100 max, off record 😉

Yeah he doesn't bitch about his own situations, only the situations of others.

No one is saying blindly accept them. People are saying you really can't complain when you get caught. Either you were partaking in the said crime or trying to prove it should not be.

When enough get arrested then people react and change things...or when it becomes profitable. Usually the latter.

The tobacco comapnies lost their power in congress long ago. Marijuana != Tobacco. The planting processes are totally different. Marijuana grows wild all over the earth and is one of the easiest things in the world to grow. Tobacco on the other hand not so much. People are more likely to grow their own then buy it officially.

all for 1 gram. that's about 1 cigarette worth for the non weed savvy people.

Texas pot laws are RIDICULOUS.

Hopefully your friend has learned his lesson, but chances are he will do it again and be back in the same place a few months down the line......and you will be here to make a thread about it! 😉

A new law in Texas, HB 2391, allows each County a good degree of flexibility in enforcing marijuana possession.

It?s a start.

... Pot has crazy side-effects (long term synapse damage)...
Any proof of this?

x2.
i don't know how I skipped over that the first time.

i want some kind of source to back that up. I've never heard that in my life.

Love the mod's warning in first post, haha.

Anyway, 1 gram of pot shouldn't be a big deal. Canada's on the right track with its pot laws.
