Strange... my EeePC isn't that fast, it has horrible battery life and eats the batteries when it's off. Probably one of the worst impulse buys I've ever made. I remember someone on here told me just to buy a smart phone (and I do own one now) and guess which one I use more? 😛 Psst, it's not the EeePC.

Note that mine is the first generation EeePC 4G Surf and I upgraded the RAM to 2GB and installed XP Pro (stripped down).

Bringing along your laptop seems to increase your coolness factor at my local Starbucks or Panera Bread, though... but only if you have a MacBook. Go figure.

I have one and love it. Got the eee pc 1000h with the 160GB harddrive.

I put windows 7 on it and it runs smoothly. Can't wait till the eee pc tablets come out!!

Battery on mine is verrry good. I can get close to 6 hours of movie time on it. Around 4 and a half with wifi on all the time

one thing though. 1GB of RAM is a bit low. I'd recommend adding 1 to 2 GB more

Electronics + beach = REALLY bad idea. Those pics of people using their laptop at the beach fail to show them picking sand out of the slots for the next year.

A 12" netbook will be my next laptop. But not scheduled to replace mine till July. But in the meantime, windows 7 is running very smoothly on my existing 14.1" laptop.
