I just ordered a Dell Mini 9, it was so cheap, I couldn't help but buy it.

And they are freaking chick magnets, women are different now days, they all have notebooks and they think the netbooks are "cute"

I've had an original EEE PC, have an EEE PC 901, and will be replacing it with the Dell Mini 9, and I'm going to set it up to replace my notebook.

What the hell do you do that you go through so many of those things?

These EEEPC machines are amazing. Cheap, fast, and very light. Battery lasts about 87 millenia.... can't get any better than that. Can't wait for summer so I can take it to the beach....

But the important question is, does the 'h' key work?

yeah, i'm on a 1000h now, upgraded to 2gb. very snappy little computer and boots up real quick! Anything bigger than 10'' is starting to get into regular notebook territory which to me defeats the purpose of having a netbook.

Sold the 4G to a friend for what I paid for it, will sell the 901 on eBay, I like to turn my toys over quickly, the only thing I've really kept is my 1st gen iPhone & HTPC...

BTW, I have a RunCore 64GB SSD, they kick major ass, I'm considering making the Mini 9 a dual boot with OSX.

I use my Netbook as a GPS with Garmin's software, it's pretty good as a GPS...

I wonder if I can run Visual Studio on my EEEPC smoothly. I'm worried about the screen size when creating applications and also the compile speed..

Harcadio is back! Where ya been, dawg?

banned for some reason... I've broken exactly zero forum rules, so who knows....

The fact that you still don't get it is reason enough to keep you banned.

On topic: sounds cool! But a beach? the fuck?

I love my Eee PC. It replaced my Laptop as my lappy that i take to class. Sure my T61 is ridiculously fast for a laptop, but it doesn't mean i like how much the damn thing weighs. The Eee surfs the net and helps me do my class work just fine.

Not to mention when i'm in the cafeteria all kinds of chicks just come up to ya and take a look at it. Never any dudes though, but that is A-ok in my book 😉

I'd rather swallow a bucket of puke than try to program on one of those things, especially in Visual Studio.

seconded.

That's not what they're intended for. At all.

lol... I know, but I'll try anyways. There is a full-screen mode in VS.

I got two of the Acer One's for my kids after returning two of the Eeepc's. I guess they were first gen, I don't know, but they were crap, slow load time, short battery life, and the wireless card sucked. Definitely not what I was expecting. The Acer's are really cool and perform just as good as a regular laptop imo and with the 160gig hdd it seems like its a better deal than the 8gig SSD . My kids are 6 and 3 so the keyboard is perfect for them, but a bit of a challenge for me to use. Neat little gizmos.

Peace
