Sorry to hear about the job, Beau. I can relate since my wife is unemployed as of yesterday. This cut our household income almost exactly in half....not a panic situation, but no new toys for me for a while, dammit.

Let me know if I can help out with the "impending disaster" plan tho. Not only am I in GA, but I work for the CDC. If we say something bad is up, it should really get people whipped into a frenzy.
