First off, I posted my actual prediction for the Eagles a few posts down in that prediction thread. Obviously the hahahah part was there to encite rage from Eagles fans (I initially copied/pasted those predictions from my myspace, and seeing as I go to school in Philly obviously I meant to agitate my friends too). Did I predict them to finish 4th regardless? Yes. After the first two weeks I conceded that I think they will finish better than the Redskins. Don't forget, while the Eagles lead the division 1/4 through the season, they've had by FAR the easiest schedule of anyone in the division, and that will reverse later. I still stand by that Dallas/NY will be the top 2 in the division.

Some honest addressing, mixed with FAR too much backtracking and sidestepping, but, oh well, that's life on the intarweb, no?

I'd just like to add that it does take cojones to post season predictions on the web.

I don't see that Philly's schedule is any easier than Dallas's schedule. Certainly not "the easiest by far."

My predictions based on the first five weeks of the season:

(1) Philadelphia Eagles - McNabb, in Pro-Bowl form. Good recieving corp; young but playing like veterans. Defense a little banged up, but should be sufficient enough, since the Eagles offense will have no problems scoring points this season.

(2) New York Giants - Manning - Tiki Barber gives Manning the freedom to air it out; Defenses must respect the run with Barber in the backfield. Manning has a tendancy to become wild at times, and will force the ball when he shouldn't; will throw some interceptions.

(3) Dallas Cowboys - Maybe one game better than Washington in the final standings. Parcells is living in the past. The conservative play calling will cost Dallas more losses than wins this season. Dallas cannot pick up the blitz, with a two tight-end, single RB formation. Hey Parcells and Bledsoe.. Ever heard of changing the play/formation once you see blitz? Too much talent on this Cowboys team, but old school coaching philosophies will be the death of this team.

(4) Washington Redskins - Another case of old quarterback; granted Brunell is more mobile than Bledsoe, he doesn't have as many weapons as Bledsoe. The 'Skins defense will keep them in many games this season, but the offense will fail to score enough points to keep up with the opposition.

Dallas Cowboys Schedule

Dallas is only slightly easier 2nd half, but New York's is considerably.

perknose I still don't see you guys doing it

jlbenidict reverse 10/32, 12/10, 12/25 and one of either 10/29 and 12/16, and you might be on to something. For someone that claims to be a Dallas fan, you sure are pessimistic.

He's upset because he realized how badly he fell into the trap.

Why, where do you go?

The only NFC team I see having a shot at winning the SB this year is Chicago. That defense is ridiculous. And they have a decent offense now, to go with it.

I've been a Cowboy fan since '89. Granted, not as long as some.. but far from being a "bandwagon" fan.

Peyton was previously the offensive coordinator while in Dallas. If anyone has noticed, the same play calling is going on, as it was in previous years. This tells me Bill Parcells calls the shots on offense; this will be the death of the Cowboys offense this year. They will fail to adjust and pick up the blitz. Parcells old school mentality is getting old. He does not have a dominant L. Taylor on defense to wreck havoc on opposing offenses as back in his old-school days. In todays NFL, teams are smarter; defensive coordinators are smarter. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what Dallas runs on offense. Opposing teams know Dallas will run the ball on 2nd down & short, and even 3rd down & short; Parcells apparently doen't fvcking know what mixing up the offense is. I wonder if he has ever heard of play-action passing? Probably not.. Wouldn't matter much.. Bledsoe is too slow to be able to pull off a successful play-action fake.

I'm a realist; I know a poor team when I see one. Dallas is a mediocre team, that is only hyped up because of the potential star players on their lineup.

No further explanation needed.

Next time keep them where they belong, with the other great football analysts that lurk on Myspace.

Whatever you say syringer, pretty much 99.99% of college students on the planet have a combination of myspace/facebook, so if that's supposed to be an insult, it pretty much failed.

jlbenedict, you can justifiably rip on Bledsoe, but Parcells? Man, you just completely discredited yourself.

LOL @ some of the mudslinging going on.

I could care less either way since the Giants won.

Well, lets analyze this.

You obviously don't go to Penn....because no one from Penn in their right mind would generalize about students from another school having bad personalities. Penn students are notorious for being intensely nerdy, stuck up, and all around losers who wear really ugly sweater-vests.

Therefore, you probably go to Temple/St Joes/PhillyU/etc....which would indicate that you're just salty that you don't go to a school as wonderfully balanced between prestigious and good times as Drexel.

Either way, I'll just laugh at you and be on my way. Yes, I do go to Drexel, and quite proud of it.

Deeko, just do what George Costanza did. Bet on the opposite of all your predictions. You won't need college, you'll be rich!

lawl, drexel is the most miserable school in the city...absurd tuition for an average education. Penn is a world class institution. and dont give me bullsh1t on penn kids being nerds, i've been to some penn parties and have seen better looking girls there than at any of the other schools.

And I go to temple...go temple football, bahahhaahhaa. Anyway, just cause you pay more money at drexel doesnt make it more 'prestigeous'.

I've posted plenty of times on these forums that I go to Drexel, don't be too proud of yourself.

And Temple? Oh please. What a joke. fyi, with the scholarships/grants I get from Drexel, it would have cost me more to go to Temple.

Penn kids ARE terrible. I didn't say they aren't smart, or don't have rich parents, but they're pretty much all terrible nerds that can't drink to save their lives.

Its just an observation. I've yet to meet a Penn student that could hold their beer at a respectable level.

Since this is now a Philly college thread...

One of my best friends is actually paying full tuition to go to Drexel. At first I thought he was a dumbass, but the coop system is seriously the best thing ever invented. Him and all his Drexel friends get awesome high level positions every cycle without even trying that more than make up for the cost of tuition.
