The problem with the colbert report is that he focuses on just ridiculing his guests, which I find occasionally funny at best, wheras Stewart attempts to actually debate with his guests, or talk with him. Also, Stewart almost NEVER annoys me, wheras Colbert can drive me bat-****** insane sometimes.

My vote's going to Stewart on this one.

Note: I liked the Report more at first, but upon continued contemplation/viewing, Stewart is the victor.

I don't know. It seems to me that Colbert wants them to "play along" with his persona and those are the interviews that work out best. Of course, often times I think his guests try too hard to "play along" and then it gets tiring. However, it's not really fair to compare the two all that much. The Daily Show at least has some news in it. The Colbert Report is pretty much just a comedy show, albeit usually political humor. With the DS, you could at least get some general idea of what's going on in the world. If you just watched the Colbert Report, you would think bears are taking over the world.

Colbert Report is very hit and miss. There are times when it's obvious there was a joke, but no one makes a noise and Colbert moves on as though nothing happened. It's professional, sure, but you don't see that happen on the Daily Show (even a joke that wasn't a hit can be turned around, and often is with Stewart)

Colbert's humor will be lost on a lot of people. it's "smart" humor...Stewart's is dumbed down humor, with a bit of seriousness mixed in, and that confuses the viewers into thinking it's real news.

Colbert's is the better show by far.

I like the Daily Show - two thirds of it. The first segment is the best generally, the second segment, with the stupid little skits and antagonizing people on the streets, I don't like....and the third segment, with the interviews.......depends on who's on, but I usually watch that.

Quote from a recent show that I liked:
"The country is run by extremists, because moderates have sh!t to do!"

Yep feel the exact same way.
Always skip the interview on the Colbert report, gets me to bed earlier 🙂

Gotta go with the 'Col-bear Rapport'
It's just funnier. Althought both are pretty good. The Word always cracks me up..

Edit: If I want news, then I turn to a real news channel or website.

John Stewart has some pretty funny other comedians like Courdry, Lewis Black, Samantha Bee, who else does Colbert have?

Who is the 'technical' specialist guy Stewart has on.
The guy with the black framed glasses? he slays me!

I actually prefer Stewart to the others. I generally just find them to be annoying.

Who does Colbert have? Well, he's got that stagehand guy, and of course, he's got his black friend, Alan.

Stewart is doing 'the news' -- colbert is doing o'reilly.
