Daily Show vs. Colbert Report

Personally, I have REALLY been enjoying the Colbert Report more lately because he pretty much does whatever the hell he wants and it's always funny.

Daily Show, but it's marginal. It's like asking whether I'd prefer to be stabbed in the gut on the left or right side.

I just don't care for political humor, it's just the same things over and over, and it's not like a show on Comedy Central making fun of the obvious problems with the government is going to make anything change.

The problem with the colbert report is that he focuses on just ridiculing his guests, which I find occasionally funny at best, wheras Stewart attempts to actually debate with his guests, or talk with him. Also, Stewart almost NEVER annoys me, wheras Colbert can drive me bat-****** insane sometimes.

My vote's going to Stewart on this one.

Note: I liked the Report more at first, but upon continued contemplation/viewing, Stewart is the victor.

#1 on the threat down list......BEARS!!!!!

I love Colbert.

I think Colbert keeps it silly while Stewart tends to fade in and out of seriousness.

This is a good race - btw, how come Colbert Report has "guys gone wild" at every 2nd commercial break just before the guest?

colbert report... john stewart isn't even funny.

*the daily show*

john stewart: so, there was some news today! how about that!!! *audience laughs*

Colbert was an awesome guest host on Daily Show when Stewart was out, I think it was when his kid was born. But that was also back when Daily Show was still somewhat consistently funny.

They are both good. They both have their goods and their bads, so it is hard to choose between the two, but if I had to choose, The Daily Show.

I enjoy the Daily show far more. Colbert has ups and downs, he tries to hard and it doesnt seem natural. But I havent watched either in about a month *shrug*.

The Daily Show is more consistently funny. The Colbert Report tries to do too much wierd, completely unrelated stuff to eat time and get easy laughs (BEARS... putting "things" on notice, etc... though I must admit they usually get me 50% of the time at least). Plus I just never clicked with Colbert's TV persona. Liked him better in small doses on the Daily Show.

Both are awesome, but I like Jon Stewart just a bit more than Colbert.

Although I watch both religiously. But you have to remember that without the Daily Show, there wouldn't be a Colbert Report.

The "doesn't seem natural" part is key. Jon Stewart is obviously making fun of everything and pointing out idiocy. Colbert is just continuously pretending to be completely serious in his stances when he is taking the side of the idiots, pretending to be serious about having ultra-right-wing views or when he makes suggestions like about how to resolve the gas crisis by using up all the oil in the world as fast as possible. It just gets old. Some sarcasm and pretending to be that way is okay, but it loses something when that's ALL he does.

I like the corespondants on the Daily show. The little segments are usually really funny. Colbert doesn't have quite that humor content in it.
