Gerber AR 3.0 is my everyday carry knife. I like the smooth feel. I don't like knives with textured surfaces.

I just bought 2 today. One for myself and one for my girlfriend. I got this one for myself and a easy assist one for my lady. I've heard great things about Gerber, hope they're good workers for me.

i have another side opening knife that I got from my uncle straight from West Point but I rarely carry that

Actually you will just be providing an assailant with a weapon to use on your girlfriend. Giver her mace or pepper spray but not a knife.

I think carrying a knife for personal defense isn't very practical, personally. I suppose if you had the training, but as long as I've carried a pocket knife, it's always been because it's a handy tool.

I've actually gotten out of carrying one, and it's because of my cell phone. I don't want a knife in the same pocket scratching it up. Instead, I keep a small folder in my desk at work. It's a great little knife, it takes mini-box cutter blades that are cheap and very sharp.

A Gerber. Can't be bothered to remember which one. You DON'T defend yourself with a knife. But it's a great tool, I use it almost daily.

In addition to being able to cut thru 3 & 3 inch nylon barge lines, it makes a great steak knife for the Friday BBQ...

i think if i had a knife and used it for self defense, more than likely the knife would get turned around and used on me. i would prefer pepper spray or something that wont kill me in the hands of someone else.
