What the fuck are GLBT rights?

It's just a colloquial term for advancing GLBT (Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender) issues: adoption rights, marriage, serving openly in the military, anti-discrimination legislation, etc.

There are no rights to adopt. Marriage is a bond of one man and one woman. The military thing will not work. That leaves anti-discrimination legislation. What is that? Do you have an example.

p.s., Thanks for the answer.

Er...it already has. Even the Marine Commandant has said that he is "very pleased" with how the repeal went and that it really isn't an issue anymore.

Correctomundo - I work with a few here on base....no issues. In fact, the officers I know in the chain of command here on base have welcomed the change.

There are no rights to adopt.

Being a gay or lesbian couple should not be an automatic disqualifier for adoption, particularly when there are no satisfactory heterosexual couples available.

The military thing will not work.

Yes it has. The repeal of DADT has been very smooth and everyone in the military is pleased with it.

That leaves anti-discrimination legislation. What is that? Do you have an example.

p.s., Thanks for the answer.

Sure.

As I predicted, the repeal of DADT had no negative effects.

There are several openly gay soldiers in the infantry outfit that I'm attached to here in Afghanistan. No one has a problem with them. They're viewed with far more respect than female soldiers, who are unable to live in the austere conditions that gay & straight males live in.

Oh bullshit, Obama is anti-gay and only changed his stance on it to further his political career.

It's a good thing that the present Republican candidate for President never flip flopped or this could be a fruitless line of deba.... oh wai...

Excellent, him signing a piece of paper makes up for a lifetime of being a bigot.

You know that it's all it would take for Jesus to forgive him. Your problem is that Obama is no longer a bigot, but you still are. Are you going to die that way? The thing about liberals is that while they are not bigot proof, they can be persuaded by logic to change. I hope the deep ignorance and profound bigotry you suffer from will also abate. Must be rough to see that Obama is a better Christian than you. It's all about Love, Matt and God loves you as much as anybody else and even if you were born gay.

Want to talk about failure and success?
Clinton FAILED at two major goals that president Obama achieved.
1. Healthcare reform.
2. Gays openly serving in the military.

Obama sounds pretty damn Gay friendly to me.

And while I'm at it....
Once again all the predicted terror and evil and destruction of society when gay causes actually become reality, all of the forwarned horrors NEVER materialize.
Whether its SS marriage or repeal of DADT.
After gay rights are advanced, either nationally or by state, the result is not horror and terror, but a deafeningly loud silence.

What does that tell you?

I'll tell you...
It tells us that in the end it boils down to one word. Bigotry.
