From the experience of nearly getting struck by lightning...it is the scariest thing I've ever witnessed. It makes me shudder to think about it.

when I was in college, a kid got hit by lightning in the parking lot. Freaky part for me was that I was out there about two minutes before it happened to him

Don't Stand By Me
Surviving a lightning strike

All LeDoux remembers about the moment he was struck in August 1999 is that he was standing ankle-deep in a puddle when he was overcome by an intensely bright light. He woke up a half-hour later, 20 feet away, with a vague taste of battery acid in his mouth, he said. The soles of his shoes had melted, his two-way radio had exploded, and several of his teeth had shattered. The medical ID tag he wore around his neck was melted into his chest. He drove home from work that afternoon and was back on the job the next day. "I didn't even know I was hurt. I didn't realize anything was wrong," says LeDoux, a 62-year-old master mechanic from Sulphur, La. It took several weeks before he realized just how fried his circuits were?and almost six months to find a doctor who believed he'd been struck.

Glad he's in good shape, Aga. Hopefully he'll have a kickass story to tell.

I remember being inside my grandmother's garage during a storm when lightning struck the metal garage door. Caused the door to glow white and illuminated the entire garage. Very impressive. They say you can feel your hair stand on end when lightning is about to strike nearby but I don't remember that happening and I was no more than 10 feet from the door when it happened.
