Can't wait!

Back in the early days of D2, I had a legit SOJ drop out of a barrel I broke. Sold it on Ebay for $80, but the guy welched.

I think you are mixing up Azurewrath (http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Azurewrath) with the Shadowfang (http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Shadowfang)

Azurewrath is a level 85 sword. It is Shadowfang that is a level 12 sword.

Hes talking about

In Patch 1.09 there was another unique called Azurewrath. It was a unique Crystal Sword, with the following stats:
100% enhanced damage
Adds 5-10 Magic Damage
Adds 3-6 Cold Damage
50% Deadly Strike
10% Better Chance of Finding Magic Items

With anything related to D3, I'll believe it when I see it in my hands. Until then I don't believe any release rumors.

Right but the sword itself didn't pave the way. I'm sure you were either casting crap to do your dirty work, or the rest of your gear was way higher than lvl 13. Or you were over-leveled.

This is the sword that shatters the Worldstone, I think I have a right to be a little disappointed in it.

I don't know the last time you played, but by the time you get to Diablo that is a pretty awesome sword.

Yeah, patch 1.09 was the glory days of d2! Cow games, easy rushes, no "must be level 20" BS to get into nightmare. Plus grandfather sword and arcane? valor were actually worth something, i went back to d2 last year and within a few hours got handed those two items as "junk" lol.

Also SOJ4life! SOJ > high rune!

My experience in testing says you are wrong. In fact many of the games I tested were either missing features at release or added significant changes to gameplay just before release. It is very rare to see a game 100% months before release.

cant wait to be a D3 beta tester

having a technically finished game, and spending the time to do internal testing, feedback, and polishing is what differentiates a mediocre game from a great game.
I have a feeling that D3 will be a great game.

I have the feeling that Blizzard is intentionally nerfing/delaying d3, as it might result in hordes of people dropping off of the immensely profitable WoW to what is supposedly a 'free' gaming model like D2. Sucks, but it might even be cancelled altogether, to be replaced by something like 'World of Diablo', a pay-by-the-month version.

I hate what gaming has become.

Nah instead they'll just delay the game another year after announcing they've decided to make it an episodic release. Then they'll add two chapters of gameplay and a few new spells in each release and charge full price for all of them.

Then will come the DLC,
DLC 1: two new mini-bosses each having a chance to drop new items that are now the ultimate item and needed to be competitive - $10.
DLC 2: One new skill for each class, also required, a new level of runes, and a small area, mostly a bone thrown to those that were pissed at the last DLC - cost $10.
DLC 3 - infinity: a few items, a few new runes and gems - Cost $10.

Then finally in 2040: Diablo 4

Guys guys, don't you get it, they're trashing everything and Diablo 3 will be exclusive to the 3DS.

I doubt that highly, Blizzard is not known for creating games for the newest hardware, more likely the Gameboy Advanced.

Full of shit. It'll never be released.

/reality

It might come out in 2012.

/srs

Side note to all: It looks seriously underwhelming. It looks like fucking WoW and all these other 'dark' games. I want it to go back to Diablo 1. That shit scared the fuck out of me as a seven year old. It still gets me a little bit even though the graphics are terrible, but that music was soooo damn good. SO GOOD.

Now another thing about this, the fucking items look like SHIT. COMPLETE GARBAGE. The Diablo 2 system was awesome. Just have that but with more items and less frequent drops of total garbage at the high levels then yay pants.

... if blizzard though D3 would decrease its WOW revenue then blizzard would have just not MADE D3... or would have made WOD.

It seems to me that blizzard is using WOW to get the funds to develop games the way it wants to, with proper polish and bug testing. SC2 was an exceptional game. D3 will be an exceptional game. Rushing games through the door without polish and bug testing and balancing is a bad idea and I am glad blizzard is not forced to do that anymore.
