I sign up with them last Tuesday (3/19) and just got the welcome e-mail this morning to setup my site.
They said they been pretty busy with the order from "us" :) (about 3000 orders) and only 3 or 4 people working to setup all orders :(
So I suggest to you be patient ....:)

They're getting SLAMMED! Patience.....patience. :)

I've seen posts from their CEO in other fora and he mentioned they're trying to add personnel to help out with the huge increase in orders.

it says you have to have a valid and registered domain name before signing up.

Where do I come up with and register my domain name? and does this cost money??

Thanks.

Yes it costs extra money to register your domain, which you need to do FIRST before hosting your website with CyberWings.com

The cheapest domain registration is GoDaddy.com here's a great website domain/hosting thread, worth reading.

i believe cyberwings USES godaddy as their domain name registrar. So you can sign up with godaddy, or use the domain name registration feature on cyberwing's site ($1 more then godaddy).

oh yeah. the site i signed up for last tuesday.. is already up and running as of last night. if you want to take a look and check out speeds and stuff, it's up at Dieselstation.com

Signed up last Friday, got my confirmation today.

WHY do these services refuse to let you access your account before you switch your DNS??? That means DOWN TIME for your website and possible problems/delays for your e-mail. If you could get it all set up and then switch DNS that would minimize the down time. For the price, I'll live with it (gladly). It seems like an unnecessary hassle, though.

Here's my experience with them so far to hopefully ease some worried minds:

I signed up last week for 3 different accounts and I had all 3 ready to go within 48 hours. I've sent in atleast 10 help desk requests and all but one was answered within a day, sometimes within an hour. I was surprised at that knowing how busy they are right now. Just be patient and let them get caught up. Luckily, I got in right before the tidal wave of new customers. Oh and I used paypal to pay, not sure if that helped speed things up for me or not.

Signed up (and paid) more than a week ago. Haven't heard a peep. E-mails go unanswered.

I'm afraid my initial suspicions of these guys are coming true.

Hmmm, my email confirmation gave me instructions on how to access my account before the DNS is switched. I had my index file ready and when the DNS kicked in last night, I saw it.

On another point, I didn't get the two free months that some others got.

Yeah, mine did too. It's not working now, but maybe I just need to wait a bit. My instructions also say "Please note, you will NOT be able to access your server until you change your primary and secondary DNS servers with your registrar." Maybe that is only referring to accessing the server by name, though.

can anyone get server side includes to work? I tried to use the #include command but it doesn't work.

my SSI's have worked fine. Most likely, you are doing something wrong. Been there, done that! ;) Consult the support forum for whatever program it is you are trying to install.

Thanks for the heads up on this service. I signed up on Thursday and received the welcome email the following Thursday. I was immediately able to upload pages. I requested name server changes right after getting the welome mail. It took about 36 hours to get the page and email working. This is my first go at posting a web page and it went very smoothly.

Ordered mine Monday, got the notice today. Yipee!

No two extra months, but for four bucks a year, I could give a rats ***.

I also cannot log into my server, as I guess I need to get the DNS transferred first. Will I lose emails during the switch over because I can't set up any accounts yet?
