I have just changed to a new mobo Asus CUSL2 from a P3V4X. However, the system fail to detect the external SCSI Yamaha CD-RW drive. Upon checking into the Device Manager, I found that there is a !(in yellow) besides the Adaptec AHA 2930CU SCSI card device. It also has a msg stating that 'the IRQ is used by another device and cannot be shared'. I have tried swapping the SCSI card with other PCI slot but to no avail.
The other PCI add-on cards I have are the Creative SB Live!Player sound card(PCI slot2) and the D-Link DFE 538TX 10/100 Adapter(PCI #6). The AHA 2930CU is on #5.
I thought of changing the IRQ but I do not know how to.
The IRQ settings are;
#5 SB16 Emulation
#9 AHA 2930CU
#9 ACPI IRQ Holder for PCI IRQ Steering
#9 SCI IRQ used by ACPI Bus
I also noticed that IRQ10 is slated for both the Creative Live!Player sound card and the D-Link DFE538TX. I am puzzled why the network card and the sound card shared the same IRQ!
I am using a Intel 815E chipset on the mobo and Win98SE for O/S.
Thank You in advance for yr response and advice.
