Places described as "paradise" have a distinct lack of humans. If more people go, they get demoted from paradise status. It then ranges from "nice place to visit" to "stay the fuck away at all costs"
Actually that is odd how there is barely no trees there, is it just that area or do they not grow well? Does look nice though. Northern lights are probably pretty awesome there too.

I was just going to ask the same thing...is the whole place barren? I don't think i've ever seen a picture of Iceland with a lot of trees in it
Yea the Vikings did a great job with the deforestation. There are efforts to regrow things but it's a slow processI believe there used to be quite a lot of trees, but that was well over 1000 years ago, before they all got cut down.
