Yes. I know this may sound dumb or not really like you want but if you had giganews unlimited every other month you could still get everything you wanted because their retention is now well over 60 days and rising everyday to 70 day and maybe even a little more at 71 day.

You can get everything you want one month. Have so much stuff that you may not even have enough time to get to it all before you get more stuff the next month from giganews.

Sure you may say I won't remember what I want next month or it will be to mind boggling because there so much stuff I need to catch up on. No problem you can always still add stuff just not get it yet intill you get giganews unlimited the next month!

Now when giganews gets up to 90 days + retention which doesn't seem to far from the future sense they are already going to 70 days which is amazing then you can get giganews ever 3 months and it will be a whole lot cheaper than easynews or newshosting!

lol, i guess so. but with newshosting i've been able to get everything i've wanted except for one post, and i used the giganews 3 day trial for that. but to each his own i guess, i'm just poor :), but that retention is very nice.

parsley007 thats why I suggested this! It makes giganews cheaper than newshosting!

Be honest here you can get so much stuff in one month that it can keep you business for a whole month even sometimes making you forget you still have unlimited newsgroup access where you can still get more stuff. Though you already have so much you don't know how or when you will have the time to get to it all because there is so much stuff its mindblogging.

Well thanks to this thread I got an account with Astraweb just because my days of hoarding data are behind me...specifically targeted stuff now, so the non-expiring account is perfect for me. 90 gigs for $25 right now.

that has got to be the worst reasoning to try and hide the fact that its still ten bucks more than most other unlimited accounts.

Thats why I said this may sound dumb or what you really may not want. I didn't think most people would like it. Its just a opinion thats all.

Yes and if you really don't know how many gigs you will download there is always block accounts where you only pay for what you use and you only pay once! You can always pay again if you want more gigs!

Me too. I do about 5 gigs a day. Though I like the retention, it can be annoying downloading 8 million headers at a time.

Does anyone else think it would rock if giganews had block accounts where you only pay per a gig! Where you only have to pay once for how much you use then whenever you want more you can always buy more gigs!

Cool!

I have seen people download 600 to 700 GB easily.

Do you get to everything you download or delete a lot ?

I have never been able to download that much but for the people who did I think their speed was about 5 to 6 Mbps.

Mine is about 4 Mbps.

That's only with a 1Mbit DSL connection. If I had a faster connection, I'm afraid how much I would download.
