it certainly doesn't coddle n00bs. the original cs had some mod levels that had hit sensitive walls so you could test the real behavior of the guns. very useful. esp since the red panels on the wall showed actual hit location unlike the random bullet mark textures. i dunno if the source bullet marks are still not matched with actual hits though. but if you aren't very sure how the guns work and how movement/rate of fire affects em, i can see how it can be fustrating.

Seems like they render the machine gun to complete sh!t.
I can't run and spray with it anymore.
In CS 1.5, I can get 3 Kills with Machine gun on one megazine, now I can't even hit one.
Mac 10 doesn't get headshot neither.
It's back to trusty old scout and deagle for me.

i wish i could play some levels like that, never really just played against unarmed bots, just sorta learned, but i prolly could level up if i did that.

I've been playing CS since 1.3 and consider myself a pretty solid player, but there's something about Source where I just get owned. It seems so incredibly random sometimes. I also really hate how you can't spray through walls anymore...I loved getting spam kills and kids screaming "hax!". So fun.![]()

The hitboxes are not different in source than 1.6, they are fixed. There is no interpolation issues like there are in 1.6 Once you learn that you actually can hit a target that you're aiming at then you should improve considerably.
That video has been disproven multiple times over the internet. Play a 1v1 and test them with someone (having them walk forward and shooting just behind them). You will miss.
1.5 Did have different spray patterns etc and that was easier to play than probably both 1.6 and source. Source has exactly the same spray patterns as cs does, they just show up onscreen a bit different due to the graphical enhancements. Things like the scout not being able to noscope in a straight line is carried over from 1.6.![]()

why then if im running across say, between teh stairwell and windows in Office looking into the main office area, and i scroll across, will i get hit once i make it to the corner? is it just complete and utter lag?
and yes, in a 1v1 match with someone running in front of me i can get a headshot by aiming behind them when they run behind a wall, although why, i dont know, it must just be lag or some bullsh1t. its weird. ive done it, had it done to me.
