Check it out: http://www.gamesradar.com/gb/p...6125099&sectionId=1001

Snip it:
"Yes, you can pick up, throw and even beat people with live chickens. You can pick up, throw and beat people with anything smaller than a car, and in this we include wheelbarrows, spades, tree trunks, grown men and even most of a car. At one point in our playtest we shot a man?s helmet off, caught it, beat him to the ground with it, shot him again and dropped it on his body."

Lol, can't wait for this!

No need to buy the latest yet.

Crysis actually has graphical features built in that no PC available this year will be able to make use of. Cevat estimates it?ll be 18 months after release before technology catches up with his game.

Damn.

Wouldn't they need the the technology to create these gfx features? Of course I know nothing about making a game.

Either way I likely won't be playing the game anymore after I beat it so these features will likely be useless to me.

Not necessarily. I see it in one of two ways:

1) Creating features that take advantage of a new spec that's not implemented in current hardware. To throw out an example, think of say SM5 when the current is SM4.

2) Creating features that require too much "horsepower" for current hardware.

I think the game sounds pretty nifty from what they've mentioned. Really what people (I think) want is to feel more natural in your environment... kind of like you're there and can make more realistic decisions. Like the concept of using "nicely placed" gas canisters to blow up the guys behind the door... or you could just try and shoot them :p. Being able to use anything at your disposal gives freedom to commit heinous acts of carnage that only the most perverse minds could think of. Now if this were only Postal 2 and you could urinate on your fallen foes. That would give Multiplayer quite the edge.

However sinister your sleek nanosuit looks, you can?t keep a straight face wearing it when you?re holding a bunch of bananas to throw at the Korean military.

loving it :D

stop the coverage of this game! I can't wait for its release and it is hard to read new articles on it.
just give me a date!
hmm, maybe a lot of developers are planning on spoiling us at E3? There are quite a few things I am looking forward to E3, this pretty much tops it though.

Sounds like the gravity-gun/water-melon vids from the 2003 Source engine demos. :p

But live chickens definitely sounds cooler than water-melons.

I don't see it as a bad thing at all. In fact I think it is great that developers push hardware like this.

When Far Cry was released, no system could run the game at 1600x1200 with AA/AF smoothly. And here we are, many years later, and the game still looks gorgeous, one of the best-looking games ever, still.

I think people who are lucky enough to have, say, an E6600, 8800 GTS/X, 2GB ram, will have a very pleasurable experience playing the game upon release. And when hardware capabilities increase, the game will just look even better.

Remember, its not the developers' fault we are having to pay big money for hardware. We are lucky to have cheaper-priced cpu's and system memory. But the video card makers need to get their act together, make more efficient gpu's, and at a lower cost. The lack of competition (thanks, AMD  ) is currently killing consumers. Hopefully by the time the game is released, the video card market will be better for the us.

Yeah, but by the looks of it the situation could get worse.

Now that I have Vista64 installed I need to start watching the prices of 640MB 8800's to drop sufficiently before Crysis comes out...

lol, I love this quote:
...discovered that he could grab a fallen tree and hold it in front of him to become completely invisible to the AI. This tactic is frowned upon in the real military as unsporting, so it had to be tactfully explained to the AI that a walking tree is deeply suspicious.

Man, this game sounds like it's gonna be incredible!

Crysis is a good reason for us all to hold our breaths (and to keep breathing until it arrives and then let it take our breaths away...AGAIN).

I wish we knew a concrete date on release :(

I never buy any game over $20, but when this hits the shelves, I would not hesitate to spend $60 if need be!
