Console will never be a PC. and thanks goodness a PC will never be a console or a cheaparss apple comp.
Thank you! I want the game to look amazing and be punishing for reasons other than AA, which may not even be noticeable during actual gameplay. Taxing 2x680GTX's should be able to provide real next gen graphics, nothing an 8 year old console can even think about running.
That looks like Nintendo  , compared to (anyone wanna guess the game?)

Skyrim mod?
Scroll down fast enough and you can barely tell which system is which without enlarging those screenshots.
Crysis 1 - with Natural Mod V1.02 (2008).
Xbox 360
PC
even if they have huge but less obvious differences, or texture res, the end result is still to close, considering how old and slow the xbox is... the game is clearly designed with the 360/ps3 and their limitations in mind, from the basic level design and many assets, it's a shame...
the PC got some extras, but it's pretty inefficient for the visual benefit.
C3's resolution is severely gimped on the consoles which makes them seem much worse: 1152x720 on 360 and 1024x720 on the PS3. But as you said the actual art assets are hardly different.
Why would you match the res? The point is to showcase the difference. Lowering the res to abysmal console settings is kind of dumb
i hate when they do these comparison videos and don't change the pc res to match the xbox res because the resolution difference alone is enough to exaggerate the differences.
use the same pc settings and use a 1368x768 res with the exact same settings and you will notice a huge difference.
if they used the same res on the pc as the xbox, we could grab a better apples to apples comparison.
You still retain detail with down scaling. Even in that case, Crysis 3 is mediocre for a 2013 PC game. It's a console port, nothing more.Just watch the video in 480. Maybe not what you want, but it helps level the playing field for resolution. PC version still looks overtly superior.
Pretty much
