Tried to play the PS3 demo last night and couldn't ever get in a game. It would just immediately say it had a network error.

I don't care about the multiplayer at all, but I wanted to see the graphics. Can't wait for the campaign. I loved Crysis.

I didn't play it on console but played it on PC. It felt too much like CoD for my tastes, plus the graphics are worse than the first one which is pitiful. I as many others had high hopes for this game and we're severely disappointed.

Yep, just another console port.

I played one match on crysis 2 demo for ps3, and i can't find any more sessions after that. tconthepc3 is my username. So far though, the game seems pretty cool.

I just got into Far Cry 2 on the PC and it's fucking sick!!!!! I'm definitely a PC noob when it comes to games.

Crytek makes Crysis and also made Far Cry 1.

Crytek did not make Far Cry 2. Ubisoft, who owns the name 'far cry' had a different studio make the 2nd game. It uses the Dunia engine.

Even still, Far Cry 2 is pretty good, imho.

Hated Far Cry 2. Everything they put in the game as a "feature" made the game that much less fun. It's hard, which is good, but when you have to fight through a convoy of soldiers at every single intersection it gets tiring. Especially when those soldiers respawn immediately after the area it outside the draw distance of the engine. Everything that broke down would break down too often and at the worst possible moment.

I played an hour or two of multiplayer today... so far I'm liking it, but Black Ops is still my true love.

First and foremost, I REALLY miss the 60fps framerate. Crysis isn't smooth by any stretch. The gameplay is relatively satisfying, but it mostly consists of people running around in stealth mode and them popping out of it long enough to kill someone. It's fun cat and mouse, but I wonder how long until it gets old.

The maps look nice, but there is way too much shit in them. It's like MW2 map design on CRACK. They need to simplify things.

I played with the demo and thought the exact same thing you did.
the reviews from ign and 1up have put the game in the 9.0 range. That is a high score imho. Maybe the demo was not truly represenative of the game. I hope the single player campaign is awesome. I will prob rent it.

Shall we make this the official Crysis 2 thread?

From some mentions in other threads and a couple gameplay vids I've watched on YouTube, this game looks like a lot of fun.

I'm wondering if I should get the PS3 or 360 version? Any recommendations? If it has any online co-op modes, that would be a point in the PS3 column for me so I can play with a bud of mine. Otherwise, it seems 360 generally has the better experience on the whole with most games...

Won't even start for me. Installed it last night, and after it "updated" (TWICE), AVG found a trojan. I cleaned the trojan...restarted PC, and now it won't do anything at all. I even tried running as administrator. Uninstalled this morning, and I am now debating on whether I should try reinstalling it again or not :(

Played a few multiplayer games yesterday. Man I'm out of practice with online shooters... I had fun, though, and can see myself playing it a lot like I did MW2.

I'm about 3 hours into the campaign as well. Other than some AI retardation it's very, very fun, and the game is just freaking gorgeous.

I picked it up last night for the 360. Played some single player, and I have to agree with Beev, this game is gorgeous.

Hows the multiplayer on 360?

Right now I don't find it nearly as engaging as Black Ops. Movement is very fluid, but not quite as much so as the COD games (I find it very difficult to get into other games these days for that very reason - COD has perfect movement and animations).

I'm a PC gamer, and I have crysis 2 already on PC and have been playing it on very high.. about 6 hours in.

I went up to the local gamestop to buy a ps3 for my roommate (he was working a double and gave me the cash), and when I got there, one of their demo consoles had crysis 2 on it, and a teenager that works at the store next door was playing it. He had just gotten the gun from prophet and was just starting to play.

He was raving about it. He hadn't heard of Crysis before and apparently just came over to play a game for a bit before he went into work. He plays COD and he was basically saying the same thing as beev, that it was gorgeous and plays well.

I think PC gamers who were spoiled by Crytek's original Crysis are seeing Crysis 2 with a critical filter causing a negative perspective, where as people who know nothing of Crytek or Crysis are seeing this game as just downright awesome.

I played and loved Crysis 1 :p. My only minor beef with C2 so far is that I miss the lush jungle.
