play it as what it is: a tech demo. It's certainly pretty to look at.

The plot is ridiculously stupid and the gunfights are uninspired and boring and really really easy.

Is the Blackfire mod and the mod posted above compatible with one another? Or would one mod override the 2nd one used?

I installed it, updated the game...and even though nothing is modded yet, I think it looks pretty good. Cant wait to see it after a mod or two.

BlackFire uses Maldo HD and u have to install it first then the Black fire. Only issue I had was that even if I lunched the game with the Blackfire launcher I still had to manually launch the mode for it to work within the Crysis 2 menu. But I really enjoyed it

Too bad they hired Richard Morgan to write the script for Crysis 2. They tried to give it a Hollywood twist, and it just did not translate as well as the first 2. The game was ok, but I have way more replay time in 1 and Warhead and 3 over this game.

Did you check out the comic series? I also liked how they may have left clues in 3 to possibly bringing back the character from the first game if they ever make a another.

Crysis 2 is maybe 10 times more engaging than Crysis 1. If you think Crysis 2 has a tech demo feel than you have never played Crysis 1.

Just firing this up myself, but I'm having an annoying problem with audio crackling in the cutscenes.

Fixed this by using Steam Mover to move Crysis 2 over to my SSD. Apparently the cutscene streaming likes lots of disk bandwidth. Having a lot of fun with it now. Detaching an HMG and switching to armor mode makes for a great rampage. :)

I would never say that any of the crysis games were good, but they were enjoyable. I could go on and on about their flaws, but I had a good time playing them.

I don't know how anyone could like the 2nd one better. Thats like saying Farcry 2 was better than 1 lol.

1st was a great, new type of game. 2nd was a linear corridor shooter like a thousand others. Graphics weren't even better. Totally consolized.

I didn't really mind the "consolization" - maybe I'm old and out of touch. I liked how they streamlined the suit powers too. Switching between them in C1 was tedious. I generally can't get into single player FPS but Crysis 2 is one of the only ones I've finished in the past couple years.

Also, Crysis 1 always really annoyed me that I could never lock it at 60fps even with a beast computer. The final boss ship was a slideshow. The scene in Warhead where you're attacked on the train was bad as well.

Let's take this thread to the next level: Is Crysis 3 worth playing?

I got it on sale from Amazon a few months ago, but just now installed it after reading through this thread. Still playing through the first level (the ship; not in the Liberty Dome yet) and the gameplay is very monotonous plus the stealth aspect sucks. Does it get better?

absolutely. i really enjoyed crysis 3. like crysis 1, the very end was a little of a disappointment, but overall the game was quite good i thought.

and IMO, the bow is fucking awesome (if you play on the hardest skill setting, anyway)

I really liked 3. Aside from the awesome graphics, the bow is great (well I shoot a compound IRL so I like finally having something like that in a 3D shooter), the story is ok, gameplay quite nice - you're on a certain track during the missions but it is like you're given a football field to navigate, instead of a corridor.

Play Tomb Raider (2013), I loved the bow in that game.

1 > 3 > 2

3 is very good and the graphics are ridiculous even on medium. Not as open as the first one but definitely a lot more modern with everything else.

I really think 2 should just be thrown out of the conversation. That was a total money grab to get the 'crytek' experience on ps3/xbox.

Added some screenshots in the OP after the game was modded. But apparently I forgot to turn on any AA for whatever reason.

Nowhere near as good as the first one, I found it boring as hell pretty quickly and uninstalled it. Got to a part with a helicopter battle, don't think I made it far.

Only criticism I could levy at the original crysis was the aliens were generic as hell. Apart from that it was fun.
